In fact, as per the islamic tradition, this marriage is justified. Prophet Mohammad had maried Ayisha, the 6-year-old girl, when he was in his 50s. And muslims hold Mohammad in high esteem and try to emulate him. So how can this 90-year-old man or the girl's father be punished for what had happened?

How can you penalize her father as Islam doesn't prescribe a minimum legal age for a girl and an upper limit for the man for marriage. In Iran, there is a fatwa by ayatollah Qomaini  that a girl as not less than 6 six years can get married and can have direct penetration sex with her at an age not less than 9. Here the girls consent is just a formality  as the sharia prescribe that even a silence from a girl is her consent. In countries like Saudi, where girls are in mental slavery of the male adults, a minor's consent can manipulate easily. All these claims of consent and marital exploitation are alien to Islam and other Semitic religions, and this new value systems are imbibed by post industrial age western culture and the flow of petro-dollar to the closed Wahhabi system.

പെണ്‍കുട്ടി തന്നേക്കാള്‍ 75 വയസ്സ്‌ പ്രായക്കൂടുതലുളള ഭര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ വീട്ടിലെത്തിയതോടെ സ്വയം പ്രതിരോധം ആരംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. അവള്‍ കിടപ്പുമുറിയില്‍ കയറി കതകടച്ച്‌ ഭര്‍ത്താവില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ രക്ഷനേടി. രണ്ട്‌ ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോഴേക്കും അവള്‍ ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച്‌ തന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ അടുത്തെത്തുകയും ചെയ്‌തു.

വ്യാപക പ്രതിഷേധമുയര്‍ന്നിട്ടും തന്റെ വിവാഹം നിയമപരമാണെന്ന നിലപാടില്‍ ഉറച്ചുനില്‍ക്കുകയാണ്‌ സൗദി വൃദ്ധന്‍. തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ തിരിച്ചു നല്‍കണം അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ താന്‍ അവളുടെ യെമനി പിതാവിനും സൗദി മാതാവിനും നല്‍കിയ 17,500 ഡോളര്‍ തിരികെ നല്‍കണമെന്നുമാണ്‌ ഇയാളുടെ നിലപാട്‌.

വിവാദമായ വിവാഹത്തിനെതിരേ സൗദി നാഷണല്‍ അസോസിയേഷന്‍ ഓഫ്‌ ഹ്യൂമന്‍ റൈറ്റ്‌സ് ശക്‌തമായി രംഗത്ത്‌ എത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. വിവാഹം പരസ്‌പര സമ്മതത്തോടെ വേണമെന്ന നിയമം ഇവിടെ കാറ്റില്‍ പറത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണെന്ന്‌ സംഘടന പറഞ്ഞു. അതേസമയം, നടന്നത്‌ വിവാഹമല്ല മനുഷ്യക്കടത്താണെന്നാണ്‌ ഒരാള്‍ ട്വിറ്ററിലൂടെ പ്രതികരിച്ചത്‌.
