10 Grooming Tips for Men

Women give top priority to grooming themselves and ensuring they are perfectly well-kept with scores and scores of help from all over the place. However, men get the short end of the stick because they're expected to not care about this stuff and be 'rugged'.
We disagree, for a machine to run well, fuel is required and for you to look good maintenance is required. We know you might be shy of openly admitting to spending time primping yourselves but this can be our little secret. Here's some makeover tips for you:

1. To Begin With:
Always keep your nails short and clean. Shoes and watches are a man's pride and you're judged based on these two things so ensure your shoes are well-maintained and polished. Find a watch that compiments you and spells classy at the same time.(We don't mean expensive but just stylish!).
2. Exfoliate:
Everyday you expose yourself to dirt and grime and simply splashing water on your face does not clean it off which results in unhealthy looking skin. Spend some time every morning exfoliating your skin to wash off all the impurities for more glowing skin. Exfoliants are readily available for your purchase..
3. Moisturise:
It's not just women that have soft skin, even your skin can retain it's suppleness if you moisturise daily after exfoliation. You can even purchase a tinted moisturiser that will give you a slightly tan complexion.
4. Exercise:
We know you have long days and lesser time to sit back and relax but a runner's high is not a myth. If you cannot devote some time to the gym at the very least wake up early for a long run, it does wonders for your body and you feel lesser lathargy. Your body looks good and when you start feeling more confident about your body, you look good.
5. Stay Crisp:
Always make sure you look sharp. Iron out your clothes always and ensure you spend a little time on dressing yourself. It's not flattering to look like a homeless person. When you're dressed well, your self esteem also peaks and it does wonders for you.
6. Jewelley:
Jewellery is not only for women but even men can carry it off if you pick out the right thing for yourself. Sometimes a simple platinum ring can easily class up your ensemble.

7. Floss:
We're not just concerned about how you look but also about your health. Oral health is vital and so please floss so you can be confident to flash that million dollar smile.
8. Lips:
It's ugly and does not reflect well on you if you're walking around with chapped, dry lips. We're not asking you to apply lipstick or shiny, flavoured gloss but just chapstick so your lips are conditioned.
9. Powder:
A little powder on those shiny, oily sweat zones will immediately make you look fresh so you can make a dapper entrance to wherever you're going.
10. Facial Hair:
If you want a drastically different look there is no other way than to chop or grow your hair. Grow a beard for a more mature look or shave off all the hair to look younger. You're the best judge of what looks best on you.

The Path to Waking Up Feeling Great

Our mornings often set the tone for the day - Especially the way we start them. Sometimes we're sleepy, other times cranky. Sometimes we wonder if we have the energy to get through the day, or have so much it was impossible to sleep. So let me give you 14 tips that may change your day for the better, starting as you wake up...

1. Don't sleep in.
Choosing and maintaining a wake time is one of the best things you can do for your sleep cycle. Having a fixed waking time will set your circadian rhythm (your body's sleep/wake schedule) and bring about a good feeling when waking up. If you sleep past that point, you'll feel a bit 'jet-lagged' - sleepy even though you slept more than before.

2. Consistency, Consistency and... Consistency.
No less important than when you wake up is when you go to sleep. If you go to sleep at more or less the same time every day, say 11, and then suddenly you go to sleep at 2am, your sleep will be bad and you will feel a lot more tired. The body craves habit and routine.

3. Meditate a bit before bed
Just 20-30 minutes of meditation can wash away all the stress of a long, hard day. Forgetting your trouble and focusing on well being will rejuvenate your sleep and will help prevent bad dreams and sleep stress.

4. Make preparations to sleep.
This may sound weird but one reason we stay up at night is that the switch was too sudden, from being fully awake to trying and fall asleep. If you want to fall asleep easily, spend the hour before bed getting slowly ready. Turn your phone off, brush your teeth, read a chapter from a book, and in the name of all that is holy - turn off the tv!

5. Cut out all background noise
According to the New Scientist Magazine, background noise such as coming from the television and the outside, is taking years off our lives. Take control on the noise level in your home. Turn off the television and any other sound-making device.

6. Find the right room temperature for you
Being too hot causes night sweats, bad dreams and restless sleeping, if you manage to fall asleep at all. Being too cold causes many awakenings during the night, even if you don't remember them. Find the right temperature for you that feels good when you are trying to fall asleep.

7. Don't eat right before bed
Your body needs time to digest the food you just ate. So eating right before bed can cause stomach issues and a pressure on your bowels that may keep you from sliding into deep sleep, where you recharge your batteries.

8. Give Yoga 5 minutes of your time in the morning
Yoga can do wonders. It is known to reduce blood pressure, decrease inflammation and release tensed up muscles and joints. What a better way to start your day?

9. Invest in the right pillow
Few investments are as worth it as investing in the right pillow. You can follow the rest of the 13 points and still not get enough sleep because your pillow doesn't support your spine, moves it out of line and causes neck and cervical pain.

10. Mellow out your alarm clock
Besides having a loud, annoying alarm wake you up in the morning, studies performed by the University of Pennsylvania, show that sleep inertia feels much worse when we are woken up abruptly. Pick a softer alarm clock or one that starts with a weak alarm and then goes louder and louder, allowing you to turn it off before it gets to the really annoying volumes.

11. Drink a whole glass of water before eating breakfast
It's only a glass of water, but it kick jumps your metabolism for the day, while refreshing you and waking you up.

12. Leave the blinds/window open
Our body is configured to perk up with the sun. Even when your eyes are still closed, the light coming into the room with signal your body that it is time to wake up and do things.

13. Cut down on coffee consumption
Many of us drink coffee every morning. However, drinking every morning will get your body hooked on the caffeine, requiring more and more to get the same effect and making you feel miserable when you wake up. In addition, the sudden boost the coffee gives will run out around mid-day, leaving you sleepy and annoyed.

14. A stretch and a jog
So yoga is great, but you may not be into that. That's ok, but at least do a little warm up for your body, get out the kinks and loosen up muscles. You'll feel a lot more comfortable during the day.

People who are aiming for weight loss can have a healthy breakfast with an egg white omelet's.

Egg yolks have three times the calories than in the egg white; they have 5 gms of fat and 210 gms of dietary cholesterol. Egg yolks are rich in Lutien and Zeaxanthin. Both of these are compounds are responsible for promoting sharp vision; they also reduce risk for age – related macular degeneration, one of the major causes for blindness after the age of 50.

It is myth that brown eggs are more nutritious than white eggs.

According to a study by the Harvard School of Public Health, there is no significant link between egg consumption and heart disease. In fact, according to one study, regular consumption of eggs may help prevent blood clots, stroke, and heart attacks.

Eggs are a great source of choline. One egg yolk has about 300 micrograms of choline. Choline regulates the brain, nervous system, and cardiovascular system.

Eggs are one of the only foods that contain naturally occurring vitamin D

Eggs may prevent breast cancer. In one study, women who consumed at least 6 eggs per week lowered their risk of breast cancer by 44%.

Eggs work best for healthy hair and skin because they have high sulphur content and wide array of vitamins and minerals.

[www.keralites.net] Re: [TheBecoming] Re: Are religions equal

When you ask such questions as whether religions are equal there must be some quality or attribute which makes them equal or unequal. So what are the attributes you imply when you ask the question  as to whether religions are equal or unequal. You also state that sanathan dharma is eternal without bothering to define what this Sanathan Dharma is. You are making a fool of yourselves when you use such pompous words without defining them. Just because you have a computer it does not mean you can post any bullshit.

@Jasmeet. Nanak taught Dharam. Sikhs have made it into a religion. By religion is meant they made it exclusive. Dharam is inclusive. Dharam is sanatan eternal.

According to dharam all human beings are equal. Religions have different views. Some religions claim God favours their particular religion..
Sikhi does not make such a claim, but our discussion is; are religions equal.
Sikhi states religions are not equal. Only the path enunciated by Nanak is true.
The path of the Muslims and the path of the Hindus is false, it says.
This is the interpretation of both Hardev Singh and Rawel Singh whom I mentioned in my original post.
They may not be noted Sikhi scholars, but they both are active on social media.

Religions are different, that is agreed. But what is the core behind religions we are examining.
Is the core of the Sikh religion Hindu or is it Muslim, is what I asked Rawel Singh.
Now Sikhi says, there is one sole reality. And that one has become the many.
"The one is in everything, and everything is in the one. And everything is the one."
This is the core teaching of Gurbani.
How is it different from the Isha Upanishad is what I ask Rawel.
The Isha Upanishad teaching is explained thus:

The Answer to this question is necessary.
Rawel Singh claims we (Sikhs) are neither Hindu nor Muslim.
Not Muslim I can understand, for the one of the Muslims is different from the one of Dharam.
If he can tell me how the one of Sikhi is different from the one of Isha Upanishad, he would have explained how Sikhs are not Hindu.

"ALL RELIGIONS ARE EQUAL"  asserts Rawel Singh. By what value?

Many assert that Bhai Mardana, Nanak's closest companion and Rabab player was the first Sikh.
Mardana continued to practice his Muslim faith, and his descendents even today are practicing Muslims even while they sing kirtan in Sikh shrines left behind in Pakistan.
Could he have been a Muslim and a Sikh at the same time?
No, Muslims are not Sikh, asserts Rawel Singh.
But they are equal.

Hardev Singh on the other hand asserts "sabte vada Satguru Nanak".
[Nanak is the greatest]

Did simple Mardana even know the intricacies of the two faiths?
Listen to this discussion, Rawel Singh and then tell me;
Are you Hindu or Musalman?
