What is Really in Potato Chips?

Not only food that comes from China are contaminated with harmful chemicals. Also the Fish and chips sold  in most outlets are fried in  trans-fat & the fish are from Vietnam... laced with chemicals. So are most fast junk food.

Subject: What is Really in Potato Chips

Potato chip lovers must read below.

To understand the nature of Pringles and other stackable chips, forget the notion that they come from actual potatoes in any recognizable way. The Pringles Company (in an effort to avoid taxes levied against luxury foods like chips in the UK) once even argued that the potato content of their chips was so low that they are technically not even potato chips.

So if they're not made of potatoes, what are they exactly? The process begins with a slurry of rice, wheat, corn, and potato flakes that are pressed into shape. This dough-like substance is then rolled out into an ultra-thin sheet cut into chip-cookies by a machine.

According to io9:
The chips move forward on a conveyor belt until they're pressed onto molds, which give them the curve that makes them fit into one another. Those molds move through boiling oil. Then they're blown dry, sprayed with powdered flavors, and at last, flipped onto a slower-moving conveyor belt in a way that allows them to stack. From then on, it's into the cans and off towards the innocent mouths of the consumers.

I suspect nearly everyone reading this likely enjoys the taste of potato chips. However, they are clearly one of the most toxic processed foods you can eat whether they're made from actual potato shavings or not.

Potato Chips are Loaded with a Cancer-Causing Chemical. One of the most hazardous ingredients in potato chips is not intentionally added, but rather is a byproduct of the processing.

Acrylamide, a cancer-causing and potentially neurotoxic chemical, is created when carbohydrate-rich foods are cooked at high temperatures, whether baked, fried, roasted or toasted.

Some of the worst offenders include potato chips and French fries, but many foods cooked or processed at temperatures above 212F (100C) may contain acrylamide.

We all know that health issues such as diabetes, obesity, elevated blood pressure and smoking put a tremendous strain on the body. However, findings from the Framingham Heart Study indicate that these ailments may also be linked to a reduction in brain size. This shocking finding was extracted from a study that has been ongoing in a Massachusetts town since 1948.
The 1,352 participants in the more recent study were the offspring of the original study participants, with an average age of 54. Risk factors were assessed during mid-life, and when the participants were between the ages of 61 and 67, their brain structure was studied using MRI scanning. They also underwent a series of cognitive tests to assess brain function.

The Aging Brain

The brain undergoes a number of changes as we age. Between the ages of 20 and 90 the brain loses an average of 5-10 percent of its weight, grooves widen and hard clusters of dying neurons form on the surface. Changes in chemical interactions cause cognitive challenges over time.
But the Framingham study showed that diet and lifestyle plays a rose in decreasing brain size; high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated blood pressure, obesity and smoking are all factors in brain health. The brains of people with the noted risk factors also had problems with thinking and dealing with a wide variety of things.

Lifestyle Changes

Research has already demonstrated that obesity, diabetes, hypertension and smoking all pave way for an everlasting health decline, Diabetes in particular is just one disease that has been found to contribute to brain shrinkage. Even slightly elevated blood sugar may have the negative effect.
The good news is that making lifestyle changes can reverse or at least decrease the risk of both brain shrinkage as well as damage to the cardiovascular system. Simply by managing your weight, not smoking, eating healthful foods and exercising, you can easily cut your risk of countless ailments. As more and more physicians warn patients of the findings in the Framingham studies as well as of other known health complications from living an unhealthy lifestyle, it is hoped that people will take note and make the changes necessary to live a long and productive life.

Subject:  What is the difference between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes?

Question: What is the difference between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes?
Answer: There are several types of diabetes; I'm going to discuss the two main types: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 formerly called juvenile onset diabetes occurs typically before the age of 20. Individuals with type 1 diabetes are usually thin, and the cause of type 1 diabetes is that the pancreas, the organ that secretes insulin, is destroyed by autoantibodies, that's why people with type 1 diabetes always need insulin, either injected or through an insulin pump. Type 1 diabetes occurs in about 10-15 percent of all the diabetics in the country.
Overview - Diabetes
Now, the most common type of diabetes is what we call type 2, formerly called adult onset. Type 2 diabetics are usually heavy, usually diagnosed after the age of 35. Now, the cause of type 2 diabetes is quite different from type 1. The cause of type 2 diabete is primarily a complicated medical condition called 'insulin resistance.' In fact, in the early stages of type 2 diabetes, there's plenty of insulin around, it just doesn't work well. To treat type 2 diabetes, we typically use lifestyle, and that may work alone -- just diet and exercise -- then we may need oral medications, and it is not uncommon for someone with type 2 diabetes to eventually need insulin, either with or without the oral medications.
Now, type 2 diabetes accounts for approximately 85 to 90 percent of all the diabetics in the country. The other important thing that needs to be said is that type 2 diabetes is associated with heart disease, and that's why it's so important to not only treat the glucose levels, but also to attack blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well. We know that type 2 diabetes runs very strongly from generation to generation, and we also know that we can prevent type 2 diabetes if we recognize it at an early stage.
The last important thing to mention about type 1 and type 2 diabetes is that you can get any type of diabetes at any age. That's very important and that's why the American Diabetes Association changed the name from 'juvenile onset' to 'type 1,' and 'adult onset' to 'type 2.'
