Sandeep Kaur IAS, Daughter of Retired Peon :- Sandeep Kaur daughter of Ranjit Singh, her age 29 has cracked the Civil Services Examination. Her father is a peon in the revenue department in Punjab. She did this with the rock solid support of her extended family. She made the Punjab proud by attaining 138th rank in the open merit list of the All India Civil Services Examination.She belonged to SC reserved category and hoped for a better rank in the reserve category list.

In her interview said that she is proud to be the daughter of peon and she want her father to complete his service with dignity. She gave the credit of her success to her parents and God. She also mentioned that the resources were meager, but in spite of that her father always tried to provide best facilities to her.

The diameter of the earth is 12742 km and that of the sun is 1392400 and the ratio is 109.19 and not 108.

Distance of the earth to the sun is 1391400 and its ration to earth's diameter is only 107.5 and not 108.

Ration of distance of moon to earth and moon's diameter is 111 and not 108.

The digit 8 looks like infinity only in the modern system of digitals which we call the Arabic system. But in real Arabic 8 is written as an inverted v. In Malayalam the digit 8 is written as ൮ which has no resemblance whatsoever to the sign of infinity. So Hegde's claim "


Some say that 1 stands for God or higher Truth, 0 stands for emptiness or completeness in spiritual practice, and 8 stands for infinity or eternity." is meaningless.

The chakras are the intersections of energy lines, and there are said to be a total of 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. One of them, sushumna leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to Self-realization.

Pranayama:
If one is able to be so calm in meditation as to have only 108 breaths in a day, enlightenment will come.

Chinese:
The Chinese Buddhists and Taoists use a 108 bead mala, which is called su-chu, and has three dividing beads, so the mala is divided into three parts of 36 each. Chinese astrology says that there are 108 sacred stars.

Stages of the soul:
Said that Atman, the human soul or center goes through 108 stages on the journey.

Meru:
This is a larger bead, not part of the 108. It is not tied in the sequence of the other beads. It is the guiding bead, the one that marks the beginning and end of the mala.

Praiseworthy souls:
There are 108 qualities of praiseworthy souls.

Japan:
In Japan, at the end of the year, a bell is chimed 108 times to finish the old year and welcome the new one. Each ring represents one of 108 earthly temptations a person must overcome to achieve nirvana.

108 signifies the wholeness of the divinity, perfect totality.
So, let us follow what our ancestors told us to do.
