[www.keralites.net] Noodle increased the risk of developing cardiometabolic syndrome This in turn raises risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke

Noodle dishes increased the risk of developing cardiometabolic syndrome
This in turn raises risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke
Risk of conditions seen in those eating noodles two or three times a week
Women are particularly at risk, say the U.S. researchers
Eating instant noodles soup two or three times a week increased the risk of heart disease and stroke

Dr Shin, who led the study on behalf of the Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital, in Texas, said instant noodles and ramen appeared to be particularly damaging to women's health.

Because ramen consumption is relatively high among Asian populations, the research focused primarily on South Korea, which has the highest instant noodle consumption person in the world.

In recent years, South Koreans have experienced a rapid increase in health problems, specifically heart disease, and a growing number of overweight adults, said Dr Shin.

He decided to investigate the connection between noodle consumption and poor health.

Noodles, like many processed foods, are high in salt - and a diet high in the mineral can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.

And earlier this year, Braden Kuo, a gastrointestinal specialist from the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston found the body struggles to digest dried, ramen noodles.

[www.keralites.net] Wives & Lives

Wives Lives

Question all aspects of oneself. Life on earth is a school for evolvement of the human spirit and the collective consciousness. For thousands of years and more, it was 'pre school' for humans,  then came primary grades, where billions are still struggling in today. Inventions and spiraling technology have catapulted earth into the 'university level' for tens of millions. The challenge requires almost 'instant evolvement', or you are left in prior  centuries. Until recently, the average being on the planet didn't even have toilet paper, half may still not!

Women were baby machines, and slaves to a man to cook, clean, raise kids, and be a sex recipient. Still that 'life style' consumes most females today, sadly. In growing areas of the planet, women are in a place for freedoms that never existed before, usually though, it requires their choice to 'break out' of old conditioning, stereotypes, and all roadblocks to personal evolving into an enlightened spirit. The moment is unlike any ever for everyone to become more than a wife, husband, or any repeat stereotype of thousands of years of broken lives.

The most important opportunity to enrich this incredible time now is to make 'love' without a doubt, your number one priority. Whether it be through 'self examination' in conjunction with forms of meditation and it's breathing methods, or through the love path with another, love fills your being with life's peak energies creating an inner freedom of bliss, joy, and well being otherwise impossible.

Choosing the 'path of love' with another, there's a very high likelihood that when you see who you love in the highest light, a vibration will happen between you that will cause your love to see the way your beloved wants to see you too! When two become 'one' in heart, mind, and spirit,  both will feel the greatest freedom possible while each blossoms into a full individual. Always see the twilight in the road up ahead!

[www.keralites.net] 2 Idli's famous in North Karnataka, Thatte Idli and Idlis In Banana/Jackfruit leaves

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net

Thatte idli is soft. Relish it with sambar and coconut chutney or aloo sagu or sabzi. Another side dish that fits well with this steam-cooked food is vegetable sagu. By the way, thatte in Kannada means plate. So, another name for this idli is plate idli. It is also known as soft idli. You can use plates / thattes, rather than the idli stand, to steam-cook the idlis. An advantage of using plates for preparing thatte idli is that you can control the quantity of batter to get thin or thick idlis.

To make thatte idli with thattes / plates, you need to use the thatte idli stand, which is usually available in a store that sells steel utensils. The thattes / plates are part of such a stand.

If you use plates to make the soft idlis, you may want to cut each idli in a plate into four parts. That way, it will be easy to eat this steam-cooked dish.

The soft idli recipe has idli rice, urad-whole, sabudana, and aval as the main ingredients.

A point to note about how to make soft idli is that it does not require idli rava.

Coat the thatte idli with home-made ghee to increase the taste of the food.

Any mistake and the idli batter comes out of the baskets and makes a mess. So here are some easy ways of making these delicious hittus.

In Banana leaves :
Usually(atleast at our place), hittu is prepared in jackfruit leaves. But these are hard to find everywhere. Instead, you can use banana leaves which can be found readily in many places. Here is a step by step pictorial of how this is prepared.
