[www.keralites.net] Story on Carelessness in medicines usage

During one of my previous visits to my native country, I happened to go to the market on my brothers bike. It was a dusty dusk so my eyes got mild irritation. After taking the dinner at home, my sister in law told me to take an Eye soothing medicine from refrigerator. I took one Eyes Medicine out considering it to be an eye cleaner. I poured some drops into my eyes and lied down for relaxation. Around mid night, i went to washroom for night tooth brush and to my astonishment; i was unable to read the label of the tooth paste!!! I quickly washed my eyes again and tried to read but it was all blurry. This was the most horrible moment of my life. I couldn'tbelievewhat kind of stupid mistake I have done. I am kind of a person who reads and investigates a lot about everything so it was very serious mistake on my part that i didn't read the label of the medicine properly. In fact this particular Eye Medicine was given to my elder brother by his doctor for his cornea expansion some weeks back. The soothing medicine was placed next to this medicine in refrigerator but I mistakenly took the wrong medicine.

Anyways, Iimmediatelyrushed to the nearest hospital. The doctor on duty recommended visiting Eyes Specialist ASAP so I had to rush to another hospital. Off course, my brother was driving and i was sitting with my eyes closed and remembering God, seeking his blessings, thinking that i wont be able to continue my job and would lose my eye sight (God forbid). I was cursing the moment I used the medicine without proper care and vigilance. Anyways, we reached Eyes Hospital and the specialist treated me with the correct anti-allergiccombination of medicines and in next half hour my eye sight became normal.

Based on this experience I recommend my readers the following: Wheneverusing medicine bevigilanton what disease you are suffering form and which medicine you are taking.

Always check the expiry date at the time of purchase and before using any medicines. Check the expiry of all medicines which you currently have in your house. Throw the expired ones.
Read the side effects of medicine on internet. There are plenty of websites where you can type the medicine's name and it will give you side effects in detail.
If you have a sensitive symptom, don't try to be a doctor yourself. Visit a professional doctor and getprescription.
Take the recommended amount of dosage. Don't invent dosage at your own.
The health ministry of your country might have banned some medicine, try to investigate for a given medicine and report it to the relevant authorities in case of violation. Play your role against corruption.

Remember that mistakes are valuable as long as you learn from them. However, when it comes to sensitive matters like Health, do not take any risk. If you doubt on anything at first, doubt again. Consult doctor. Don't leave any symptom unattended. Small matters of ignorance can lead to big disasters in future!!!

അലിയുടെ മന്ത്രിസ്‌ഥാനം: കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടിയുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക്‌ യൂത്ത്‌ ലീഗിന്റെ പ്രതിഷേധപ്രകടനം

മലപ്പുറം: മഞ്ഞളാംകുഴി അലിക്കു മന്ത്രിസ്‌ഥാനം നല്‍കാത്തതിനെതിരേ മന്ത്രി പി.കെ. കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടിയുടെ വീടിനു മുന്നില്‍ യൂത്ത്‌ലീഗിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധ പ്രകടനം. അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറം പഞ്ചായത്ത്‌ യൂത്ത്‌ലീഗ്‌ പ്രസിഡന്റും ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത്‌ മൂന്നാം വാര്‍ഡ്‌ അംഗവുമായ ഷബീര്‍ കറുമുക്കിലിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ അമ്പതോളം പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരാണ്‌ ഇന്നലെ വൈകിട്ട്‌ ആറോടെ മലപ്പുറം കാരാത്തോട്ടെ കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടിയുടെ വീടിനു മുന്നില്‍ പാര്‍ട്ടി പതാകയേന്തി മുദ്രാവാക്യം വിളിച്ച്‌ എത്തിയത്‌.

ഈ മാസം 28- ന്‌ അകം അലിക്കു മന്ത്രിസ്‌ഥാനം നല്‍കണമെന്നും അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം മുസ്ലിംലീഗിന്റെ നാലു മന്ത്രിമാരെയും വഴിയില്‍ തടയുമെന്നും അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി എത്തിയവരില്‍ ഏറെയും അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറം പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ഒന്നാം വാര്‍ഡായ മണ്ണാറമ്പില്‍നിന്നുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു.

ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള പ്രതിഷേധം ഒരിക്കലും പാര്‍ട്ടിയില്‍ വച്ചുപൊറുപ്പിക്കാനാവില്ലെന്നും ഇതിനു നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയ ഷബീര്‍ കറുമുക്കിലിനെയും മങ്കട മണ്ഡലം എം.എസ്‌.എഫ്‌. വര്‍ക്കിംഗ്‌ കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗം എം. ഷംസീറിനെയും പാര്‍ട്ടിയുടെ പ്രാഥമിക അംഗത്വത്തില്‍നിന്ന്‌ ഒഴിവാക്കാനായി തീരുമാനമെടുത്തതായും യൂത്ത്‌ലീഗ്‌ ജില്ലാ പ്രസിഡന്റ്‌ നൗഷാദ്‌ മണ്ണിശേരി അറിയിച്ചു.

കഴിഞ്ഞ നിയമസഭാ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍നിന്നാണു മുസ്ലിം ലീഗ്‌ സ്‌ഥാനാര്‍ഥിയായ അലി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടത്‌. അഞ്ചാംമന്ത്രി സ്‌ഥാനം അലിക്കു നല്‍കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു പ്രതിഷേധം നടത്തിയവര്‍ മങ്കട മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍പ്പെടുന്ന അങ്ങാടിപ്പുറത്തു നിന്നുള്ളവരാണ്‌. ഈ പഞ്ചായത്തിലുള്‍പ്പെട്ട തിരൂര്‍ക്കാട്ട്‌ മുസ്ലിംലീഗ്‌ നേതാക്കളുടെ പോസ്‌റ്ററുകളില്‍ കരി ഓയില്‍ ഒഴിച്ച സംഭവവും നേരത്തെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു

Madam / Sir,

Foreign Exchange Management (Deposit) Regulations, 2000 - Credit to Non Resident (External) Rupee Accounts

Attention of Authorised Dealer Category – I (AD Category-I) banks is invited to Regulation 5(6) of ForeignExchange Management (Borrowing or Lending in Foreign Exchange) Regulations, 2000 notified vide Notification No. FEMA 3/2000-RB dated May 3, 2000, as amended from time to time, in terms of which, an individual resident in India may borrow a sum not exceeding USD 250,000/- or its equivalent from her / his close relatives outside India, subject to the conditions mentioned therein.

2. The Reserve Bank has received representations that the repayment of such loans may be allowed to be credited to the Non Resident (External) Rupee (NRE) Accounts. On review, it has been decided that AD Category-I banks may allow repayment of such loans to NRE / Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) [FCNR(B)] account of the lender concerned subject to the condition that the loan to the resident individual was extended by way of inward remittance in foreign exchange through normal banking channels or by debit to the NRE / FCNR(B) account of the lender and the lender is eligible to open NRE / FCNR(B) account within meaning of the Foreign Exchange Management (Deposit) Regulations, 2000 notified vide Notification No. FEMA 5/2000-RB dated May 3, 2000, as amended from time to time. Such credit shall be treated as an eligible credit to the NRE / FCNR(B) account in terms of Para 3(j) of Schedule-1 read with Para 5 of Scheule-2 of Notification No. FEMA 5/2000-RB, ibid.

3. Authorized Dealer banks may please bring the contents of this circular to the notice of their constituents concerned.

4. The directions contained in this circular have been issued under Section 10(4) and 11(1) of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (42 of 1999) and are without prejudice to permissions / approvals, if any, required under any other law.

ലീഗിന്റെ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രി: കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്‌ രണ്ടു തട്ടില്‍

തിരുവനന്തപുരം: മുസ്ലിംലീഗിന്റെ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ക്കായി ഉമ്മന്‍ചാണ്ടിക്കൊപ്പം ഡല്‍ഹിക്കു പോകാതെ കെ.പി.സി.സി. പ്രസിഡന്റ്‌ രമേശ്‌ ചെന്നിത്തല വിട്ടുനിന്നു. അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിയെന്ന ആവശ്യത്തിനെതിരേ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസില്‍ എതിര്‍പ്പു ശക്‌തമായി. കെ.പി.സി.സിയുടെ പിന്തുണയില്ലാതെ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിയെന്ന ആവശ്യം നടപ്പാകില്ല.

മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സംസ്‌ഥാനത്തിന്റെ പദ്ധതികളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള തുടര്‍ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ക്കായാണു ഡല്‍ഹിക്കു പോയതെന്നാണ്‌ ഔദ്യോഗികഭാഷ്യം. എന്നാല്‍, പ്രധാനദൗത്യം ലീഗിന്റെ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിപ്രശ്‌നമാണ്‌. കെ.പി.സി.സി. നേതൃത്വം ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ എതിര്‍പ്പുമായി രംഗത്തുവന്നതോടെ ഹൈക്കമാന്‍ഡിന്റെ അനുമതി അനിവാര്യമായി. അതു നേടിയെടുക്കാനാണ്‌ ഉമ്മന്‍ചാണ്ടി ഡല്‍ഹിക്കു പോകാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്‌. ഒപ്പം രമേശ്‌ ചെന്നിത്തലയെ ക്ഷണിച്ചെങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹം നിരസിച്ചു. യു.ഡി.എഫ്‌. സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അധികാരത്തില്‍ വന്നശേഷം ഇത്തരം പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ ചര്‍ച്ചചെയ്യാന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയും കെ.പി.സി.സി. പ്രസിഡന്റും ഒന്നിച്ചാണു ഡല്‍ഹിക്കു പോയിരുന്നത്‌. മുന്നണിയില്‍ അസ്വസ്‌ഥതയില്ലാതെ മുന്നോട്ടുപോകണമെന്നാണ്‌ ഉമ്മന്‍ചാണ്ടിയുടെ നിലപാട്‌. എന്നാല്‍ മതേതരത്വത്തിനു പ്രാധാന്യം നല്‍കുന്നതിനാലും മുന്നണിയെ നയിക്കുന്ന കക്ഷി എന്ന നിലയിലും മറുപടി പറയേണ്ടിവരുക മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയല്ല, കെ.പി.സി.സിയായിരിക്കുമെന്നാണു പാര്‍ട്ടിനേതൃത്വത്തിന്റെ നിലപാട്‌. സാമുദായിക സന്തുലിതാവസ്‌ഥയ്‌ക്കു കോട്ടം തട്ടുന്ന തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കാനാവില്ലെന്ന കടുത്ത നിലപാടിലാണ്‌ പാര്‍ട്ടി.

അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിപ്രശ്‌നത്തില്‍ത്തട്ടി അനൂപ്‌ ജേക്കബിന്റെ മന്ത്രിസഭാപ്രവേശവും അനിശ്‌ചിതത്വത്തിലായേക്കും. അനൂപിനൊപ്പം തങ്ങളുടെ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിയും സത്യപ്രതിജ്‌ഞ ചെയ്യണമെന്നാണു ലീഗ്‌ നിലപാട്‌.

സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ സാമുദായിക സന്തുലിതാവസ്‌ഥയാണ്‌ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിയെന്ന ലീഗിന്റെ ആവശ്യത്തിനുനേരേ മുഖം തിരിക്കാന്‍ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിനെ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പ്രധാനഘടകം. ഇപ്പോള്‍തന്നെ മന്ത്രിസഭ ന്യൂനപക്ഷകേന്ദ്രീകൃതമെന്ന പരാതി വ്യാപകമാണ്‌. ചീഫ്‌ വിപ്‌ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 11 പേരാണ്‌ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ന്യൂനപക്ഷ സമുദായംഗങ്ങള്‍. അനൂപ്‌ ജേക്കബ്‌കൂടിയാകുമ്പോള്‍ എണ്ണം 12 ആകും. ഒഴിവുവരുന്ന രാജ്യസഭാ സീറ്റില്‍ ഒന്ന്‌ പി.ജെ. കുര്യന്റേതാണ്‌. ആ സീറ്റ്‌ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു വീണ്ടും നല്‍കേണ്ടിവരും. പിന്നീടുള്ള ഒരു രാജ്യസഭാ സീറ്റിനെക്കുറിച്ചും തര്‍ക്കം രൂക്ഷമാണ്‌. രണ്ടു സീറ്റ്‌ ഒന്നിച്ചു യു.ഡി.എഫിനു കിട്ടുമ്പോള്‍ ഒന്ന്‌ മാണി വിഭാഗത്തിനു നല്‍കാമെന്ന വാഗ്‌ദാനം നിലവിലുണ്ട്‌. അതുകൊണ്ട്‌ അഞ്ചാം മന്ത്രിയെന്ന ലീഗിന്റെ ആവശ്യം അംഗീകരിക്കാനാവില്ലെന്നാണു പാര്‍ട്ടിയിലെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷാഭിപ്രായം.

സ്വന്തം വകുപ്പുകള്‍ ലീഗ്‌ സാമ്രാജ്യമാക്കി വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതിലും ഐ ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്‌ അമര്‍ഷമുണ്ട്‌. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവകുപ്പ്‌ ലീഗ്‌ വര്‍ഗീയവത്‌കരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നാണു പരാതി. 'ന്യൂനപക്ഷഭൂരിപക്ഷ'മുള്ള സര്‍ക്കാരെന്ന ആരോപണം നിലനില്‍ക്കേയാണു ലീഗ്‌ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവകുപ്പിലെ ഉന്നതസ്‌ഥാനത്തെല്ലാം സ്വസമുദായത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടവരെ നിയമിച്ചത്‌. വേണ്ടത്ര യോഗ്യതപോലുമില്ലാതെ സമുദായപരിഗണനയില്‍ നടത്തിയ ഇത്തരം നിയമനങ്ങളും കെ.പി.സി.സിയെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഘടകകക്ഷികള്‍ നടത്തുന്ന സാമുദായിക പ്രീണനങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുന്നണിയെ നയിക്കുന്ന കോണ്‍ഗ്രസാണു മറുപടി നല്‍കേണ്ടിവരുക.
