നായയുടെ പ്രത്യേകതയെന്താണ്. യജമാനനെ തിരിച്ചറിയാനും വാലാട്ടാനും വിധേയത്വം കാട്ടാനും അനുസരിക്കാനും തയ്യാറാകുന്നു എന്നതു തന്നെ. കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകള്‍ ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ പരിണമിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സങ്കല്‍പ്പിച്ചു നോക്കൂ. ഉടമസ്ഥനെ മനസിലാക്കി അതിന്‍പ്രകാരം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ വികസിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമത്തിലാണ് പ്രശസ്ത ചിപ്പ് നിര്‍മാതാക്കളായ ഇന്റല്‍.

'ഇന്റല്‍ കൊളാബൊറേറ്റീവ് റിസര്‍ച്ച് ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിട്ട്യൂട്ട് ഫോര്‍ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടേഷണല്‍ ഇന്റലിജന്‍സ്' എന്ന ഗവേഷണപദ്ധതി വഴിയാണ്, ആളെ മനസിലാക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്ന കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്റല്‍ വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഇസ്രായേലി ഗവേഷകരുടെ സഹായത്തോടെയാണ് പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത്. ജറുസലേമിലെ ഹീബ്രൂ സര്‍വകലാശാല, ഹൈഫയിലെ ടെക്‌നിയൊണ്‍ എന്നീ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുമായി ഇന്റല്‍ ഇതിനായി സഹകരിക്കുന്നു.

ഒരു ഉദാഹരണം നോക്കാം. കാറിന്റെ താക്കോല്‍ വീട്ടില്‍ മറന്നുവെച്ചുവെന്ന് കരുതുക. കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ചിപ്പ് ഘടിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ആ താക്കോല്‍ എപ്പോഴാണ് അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചതെന്ന കാര്യം ആദ്യ ഒരാഴ്ച്ച ഓര്‍ത്തിരിക്കും. രണ്ടാമത്തെ ആഴ്ച്ചയില്‍ അത് ഉടമസ്ഥനെ ഓര്‍മിപ്പിക്കും, വീട്ടില്‍നിന്ന് പോകും മുമ്പ് താക്കോലെടുക്കാന്‍.

ഉപയോക്താവ് ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ അത്തരം ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായി റിക്കോര്‍ഡ് ചെയ്തുവെച്ച് ഓര്‍ത്തിരിക്കും. 2015 ഓടെ അത്തരം ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ ലഭ്യമാകുമെന്ന് റാറ്റ്‌നെര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

'അഞ്ചുവര്‍ഷത്തിനകം മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഇന്ദ്രിയഗോചരകഴിവുകള്‍ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ ആര്‍ജിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങും. പത്തുവര്‍ഷത്തിനകം ഒരു ചിപ്പിലെ ട്രാന്‍സിസ്റ്ററുകളുടെ എണ്ണം, മസ്തിഷ്‌ക്കത്തിലെ ന്യൂറോണുകളുടെ സാന്ദ്രതയെക്കാള്‍ വര്‍ധിക്കും'-അദ്ദേഹം പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു.
