Dear Friends,   attaining a position of Lt. Col. in army or any branch of Indian defece sector is a matter of struggling of years and it is not easy, as we think. I am unable to understand the reason as to why a film star is given the respectable position in defence, just because he is a superstar in Malayalam film industry.  If it is because of his popularity, then he should have given some other awards, which are justifiable.  It is a wrong practice to give such honorary positions to film stars, which is a shame for those who reach this position with their efficiency, daredevil action and courage etc.  There should be some logic and sense behind every action.  In India, the biggest democratic nation in the world, every thing will be possible and we, donkies will keep on supporting such foolish acts.  Democracy means "permission to ride on public" and not "Service people".  This is like a NETA (LEADER) who did not evey see the school, can control an IPS/IAS Officer, who has spent a number of years, day and night, spending a lot of energy, to attain this position.  It is pitty.   Another funny news I came across in Manorama is the remark by Mr. V.S.Achuthanandan against the ACP, who shot the striking students.  In my opinion, the ACP should not have used the Revolver and shot only 4 rounds, but should have used an AK-47 and shot minimum 600 rounds.  Politicians will support students because they need scapegoat. There is no value for the life of policemen who are protecting our life and property, day and night, rain and hot?    It is our fate, we never get rid of such unwanted and parasite.   K.P.
