It may not be possible to ask permission, or get into an altercation on the merits and demerits of the action with the higher authority, when the very life of the person or persons are about to be lost.
If the situation demanded shooting was justified. And if the higher authority, in this case the Thahsildar had any "balls" he would have said without any hesitation, that he had given the "go ahead". Here it is evident only the asst. commisioner had the "balls" to say "I shot at the KILLERS". He is cent percent sure that he did the right thing by shooting at the killers, then why should he say I meant to shoot at stars rather than the killers???? Lathi and grenades failed and still politicians want the police to stand at attention and be killed!!!?
Just because the criminals belong to a political party, sholud they be condoned!?. Look at the gunman of an M L A who thrashed a man to death "on the suspicion of theft".
