Keenan: Do you know why is it that witches rode broomsticks?
Ronald: I have no idea, Keenan. Tell me why.
Keanan: Because it is way quicker than walking!

Tongue in cheek…
I just let my mind wander, and it didn't come back…

Oz woman speaks with French accent after car crash…
Tasmania-born Leane Rowe has never been to France but has been speaking with a strong French accent ever since she woke from a serious car crash. Rowe suffered a serious head injury in the smash eight years ago, which left her with a broken back and jaw.
(Me: It's for all those believing in re-birth…)

A very thoughtful response from a reader, who I don't know, to my piece on why Democracy in India is a failure...

"Well said. The meaning of democracy is not properly understood by us. It will work well only when the following things are done:

People should feel that we are all one.
We should feel that just as we keep our house clean, we should also keep our surroundings also clean.
We should shed the caste differences.
The people should have the habit of helping others in what ever little way possible.
I have seen these habits in English men ,especially in small towns in England. That is why the democracy is better than in India."

(Me: Yes, absolutely. In a democracy where people elect their own representatives to rule them, it is "yatha praja, thata raja" meaning like people, like rulers. We the people are by and large indisciplined, so are our elected rulers. After all, you cannot expect to produce Alphonso Mangoes when you plant the seeds of mangoes or chickoos!!!)

Non-news of the day…
Union cabinet reshuffled..
(When a deck of cards is shuffled and distributed, at least there is a one-million chance of you getting three aces…)
