[www.keralites.net] Khatte-mitten khabhrain from around the world

A farmer, who went to a big city to see the sights, asked the hotel's clerk about the time of meals.

"Breakfast is served from 7 to 11, dinner from 12 to 3, and supper from 6 to 8," explained the clerk.

"Look here," inquired the farmer in surprise, "when am I going to get time to see the city?"

Man to athletic shoes store salesman: "I'm more of a sprinter than a long-distance runner, mostly back and forth to the kitchen during commercials."

A best ever plain speak to our judiciary since Independence… Source: Mumbai Mirror 22/1/13

CJI Atamas Kabir's advice to the judges: "Don't just think of letter of the law, but for God's sake also think of the spirit of law".

(Recently the Mumbai HC let off a drug smuggler – a very serious offence – on technical ground; a brutal rapist who was acquitted of all charges due to "incompetency of law enforcement agency/prosecution" went on to commit another gruesome rape)

Tweet of the day: "In whiskey there is honesty, in wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria"

Weird world…

Getaway donkey alerts police, ruins robbery.

A trio of Colombian criminals were forced to ditch their ill-gotten gains, during a 2 am theft, after a donkey they used started to bray and alerted police. The group had managed to steal rum, oil, rice, cans of tuna and sardines from a small shop in Juan de Acosta. They planned to load the goods onto 10-year-old Xavi, who they had stolen some 12 hours before, and make their escape. But the animal let out a series of 'hee-haws' and alerted nearby police.
(Me: Donkey is usually a pejorative term to describe a fool or incompetent person…)

Real-life heroism…

Grandfather wrestles shark in Australia…

A heroic British holidaymaker helped wrestle a 2m shark off he Australian coast to stop beachgoers being attacked. Paul Marshallsea, 62, from Wales, was with his family when the shark swam up to swimmers and kids on the shore on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. A local TV crew on another story, captured the moment Marshallsea and two other men grabbed the shark to get it to swim away. It eventually broke free and a man managed to lead it into the sea.

Health tips.

Troubled with migraine? Regular sleep, reduced stress, healthy eating and exercise can reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.

**

Line Maro…

Girls like you give guys like me a good reason to live.

(Me: So, how many girls do u hv right now?)

**

"Only our characters are steadfast, not our gold" – Euripides.

**

Parting shot for the day…

"Never forget what a man says to you when he is angry"

(Me: hahahah. Absolutely spot-on: that's when the guy blurts out the truth about what he really thinks of you…)
