മഹാകുംഭമേള - അസോസിയേറ്റഡ് പ്രസ് ഫോട്ടോസ്
പന്ത്രണ്ട് വര്‍ഷത്തിന്റെ ഇടവേളക്കു ശേഷം ജനവരി 14നു ഉത്തര്‍്രപേദശിലെ അലഹബാദില്‍ മഹാകുംഭമേളക്ക് അരങ്ങുണര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ഗംഗാ യമുനാ സരസ്വതി സംഗമം നടക്കുന്ന പ്രയാഗിലെ ത്രിവേണി ഇനി ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ തീര്‍ഥാടകബിന്ദുവായി മാറും. ലോകമെമ്പാടു നിന്നുമുളള തീര്‍ഥാടകര്‍ക്കു പുറെമ ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളും മാധ്യമലോകവും ഈ നാളുകള്‍ ഇവിടെ തമ്പടിക്കും. ഫിബ്രവരി 25-ന് ഈ മഹാസംഗമം അവസാനിക്കും. ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ തീര്‍ഥാടകസംഗമമാണ് പ്രയാഗിലെ കുഭമേള.
ഈ നാളുകള്‍ ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിനാളുകള്‍ ത്രിവേണി സംഗമത്തില്‍ നീരാടാെനത്തും. ഗംഗയും യമുനയും അന്തര്‍ധാരെയന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കെപ്പടുന്ന സരസ്വതിയും ചേരുന്ന സംഗമത്തില്‍ പുണ്യനദിയില്‍ മുങ്ങി നിവര്‍ന്നാല്‍ ഇഹപരമായ പാപങ്ങള്‍ തീരുമെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. ജനവരി 14ന് മാഹാസം്രകാന്തിക്കാണ് കുഭേമളക്ക് അരങ്ങുണരുക, പൗഷ പഞ്ചമി (ജനവരി 27), ഏകാദശി (ഫിബ്രവരി 6), മൗനി അമാവാസി (ഫിബ്രവരി 10), വസന്ത പഞ്ചമി (ഫിബ്രവരി 15), രഥ് സപ്തമി (ഫിബ്രവരി 17), ഭീഷ്മ ഏകാദശി (ഫിബ്രവരി 21), മാഘ പൂര്‍ണ്ണിമ (ഫിബ്രവരി 25) എന്നിവയാണ് കുഭേമള സ്‌നാനത്തിന്റെ ചില പ്രധാന തീയതികള്‍. മേളയുടെ നടത്തിപ്പിനായി വിപുലമായ ഒരുക്കങ്ങള്‍ യുപി സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. കിലോമീറ്ററോളം നീളുന്ന ഗംഗാ തീരത്തു പടരുന്ന വിശാലമായ മേളഗ്രൗണ്ടില്‍ താമസ ഭക്ഷണക്രമസമാധാന സംവിധാനങ്ങളുള്‍പ്പെടയുള്ള സജ്ജീകരണങ്ങള്‍ ഇതിനായി ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഫി്രബവരി പത്തിന് മൗനി അമാവാസിക്ക് എല്ലാ അഘാഡകളിലും പെട്ട സംന്യാസിമാര്‍ ത്രിവേണിയില്‍ സ്‌നാനംചെയ്യാനെത്തും. ആദ്യ അവസരം ജുന അഘാഡയിെല നഗ്നശൈവസാധുക്കളായ അഘോരികള്‍ക്കാണ്. ഗംഗാതീരത്തു തീര്‍ത്ത കുടീരങ്ങളിലേക്ക് സംഘമായി ആഘോഷത്തോടെ എത്തുന്ന സംന്യാസിമാരുടെ എഴുന്നള്ളത്തും പുണ്യനദിയിലെ അവരുടെ സ്‌നാനവുമാണ് മേളയുടെ പ്രധാന ആകര്‍ഷണം.
