A Couple's Personal Reflection Shines Through in Their Southern California Backyard Wedding
Lindsay and Monte wanted their Spring nuptials in California to completely reflect them. So they happily traded vows on the bride's grandparent's property in Riverside where she practically grew up. And the groom's childhood pastor served as their officiant. Yep, 100% them and simply amazing!
To achieve the look the couple wanted for their ceremony and reception all they had to do was look to the things that were important to them. Vintage – especially the beat up old kind – was a big draw as it spoke to their personalities and the love they have for the unique. Bride Lindsay recounts, "We wanted an intimate feel so we chose to have only our closest family and friends present. The mismatched china was a MUST – as were the succulents – I wouldn't budge on those. And Monte wouldn't compromise on the bow tie he wore either, he had to have it!"
With gorgeous images provided by Marissa Kay Photography, there were several special touches that made the day even more lovely and memorable. Lindsay's grandmother asked her to wear her mother's necklace, which meant the world to the very happy bride. And during the ceremony, Lindsay and Monte were supposed to water an orange tree as a sign of unity – but the water was never put out for them. Lindsay said, "That is how busy we were. It didn't matter though, we just wanted to get married. So the pastor told us to look at the tree and all we could do was laugh – a moment we will never forget! And we wouldn't change a thing."
