I have a doubt regarding the nativity of cheraman perumal , the ruler of chera dynasty who ruled kodungullor on 600-800 AD.\

is he or the chera dynasty tamil origin or kerala? some says he is of tamil origin, but i heard him of kerala origin..

can anyone give clarification on this?
