Dear Mr.Subramaniyan,

     

      Wearing one's welding ring and a small neck chain  is a crime ?A lady wearing her Thali chain of 20 grams,wedding ring of 12 grams and 2 bangles of 12 grams each which are brought years before from India itself (even if it is purchased from our working place) is a smuggling or a crime?. You people-so called law abiding citizens,want us to visit our mother land as refugees?.won't we have the right to appear in decent outfit in our relatives' marriages & other functions. Indian govt.& you people too.only needs our money to be deposited in Indian banks and to be used  as they like?

 

  Do you think that all the NRIs & NREs are visiting India with bags of Gold coins.We are not against taxing high quantity of new gold or wearing excess quantity of ornaments.Do you thik that one can get a gold wedding ring which cost less than Rs.10,000/-.Laws should be realistic.

 

 We are avaiting for a new law which compel us to pay tax  in our Airports for the dress we purchased from our working place to cover our nakedness.Then we will visit our country in "our birthday dress" to make you all happy or we will try not to come back to Indai and spoil all our life in this desert.

Why Only NRIs.

  Are you purchasing Gold from a Jewellery in Kerala, after paying the tax (with proper bill) ?. Are you a person paying all the tax to Govt. correctly? Do you purchase everything with a proper bill showing the tax and other amount payable to Govt?  If yes, sorry for this mail. Otherwise please keep quiet.

I do not fiNd anyhign wrong here. If you cArry more than permissible limits, natually government (customs) have to tax you - to pay customs duty.

escaping the same - don't you think it amounns to smuggling.
