| I think the disease is known as HERPES ZOSTER. It can affect any part of the body like nec, stomach, back, groin, eyes etc. It is really very very painful and the most dangerous is perhaps when it affects the eye as one can lose the vision if not detected in time. It affects any one side of the body only. i.e. it never crosses the middle. It affects only those who have already had chicken pox earlier. It is believed that some of the virus remains dormant when one is affected with chicken pox and it attacks the body again when the body resistance is down. It is contagious and it will be as chicken pox for those who have had not been down with chicken pox earlier and as herpes only to those who already had chicken pox earlier. Allopathy claims that it can be cured completely and the vrus remains dormant only because generally people dont take any medicines for chicken pox.
