Samosa seller's son secures 6th rank in JEE Main 2017, had topped AP EAMCET too :- Hyderabad: Vabirisetti Mohan Abhyas, the son of a samosa seller, made his parents proud when he secured the All India Rank 6 in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017. Abhyas scored 345 out of 360 marks in the exam attempted by over 11.8 lakh students across the country. Not only this, Abhyas grabbed the first rank in Andhra Pradesh EAMCET (Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) and fifth in Telangana EAMCET. "I decided to do engineering at IIT when I was in Class 8 and I never lost my way in achieving the goal. I attended all the classes regularly and with determination to make it big in IIT," the first ranked in south India was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. The bright student gave credit of his success to his parents, teachers, and hard work. The son of V Subba Rao and Suryakala, who sell samosas to earn living, took coaching from a private institute at Kukatpalli on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Abhyas also helps his parents in making samosas. "We are from Palakole in West Godavari district and we came to Hyderabad 13 years ago only to ensure a better education for my son. He is the first person in our family who is going to do engineering. We are glad he has made it to the top," the daily quoted Subba Rao as saying. Abhyas now wants to join B.E (Engineering Physics) in IIT Chennai.
