A poignant cartoon quip on the death of a aspiring, failed starlet, Jiah Khan, who hanged herself by a fan in her flat..
"The world of showbiz is cruel and lonely. Fame is fickle, and when times are bad, thousands of fans will let you down.
Sadly, just one won't…"
(Me: Just too good. Too true!!)

Tech firm employee held hours before leaving for India with proprietary info worth millions.
(Comment: Old habits back in India die hard. Luckily for the FBI, he was caught in the nick of the time, otherwise, he would have flown down to his mother land and would live comfortably forever hereafter, the 'systems' being what they are here..)

From the world of science…

Why forbidden fruit is hard to resist…
A study by the experts of University of British Columbia has shed light o how people become obsessed with forbidden pleasures.
The most important finding is that obsession is not as strong if others are also denied: when an object is forbidden to a group, the allure of the object drops dramatically. This helps to explain why group diet techniques such as Weight Watchers can be more successful than dieting alone.
(Me: hmmm. It's like: if we do not get our 'object of desire', it is okay as long as it is denied to others…)

Another gem of a quote in ToI

At a school cafeteria, children had queued up for a special lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The teacher in charge made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
'Take only ONE. God is watching.'
At the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had stuck a note on the tray,
