A study conducted by Michigan State University revealed that 95% of people do not wash their hands properly.
It turned out that only 5% washed their hands longer than 15 seconds which is the benchmark for clean washing, while 95% did not wash their hands properly. Majority of observants spent only 6 seconds washing their hands, which is not enough to kill bacteria under the nails and other hideouts.
What's even more surprising is that 10% of observants did not bother to wash their hands at all (15% men, 7% women). Be mindful when handshaking people you meet in your office corridor.
