That's bizarre…

Man travels to 201 countries without flying

Graham Hughes has completed his record of visiting every country in the world without flying. The British will enter the Guinness Book of Records when he reached Russia today by a train from Gdansk in Poland following 25-hour bus journey from London Victoria after visiting all 201 UN-recognized national without stepping foot on a plane. The 33-year-old man started his journey in January 2009 and only spend Pounds sterling 7,000 on his epic jaunt in the first two years followed by Pounds 3,000 a year in the next two.

News of the day….

'Can't change the law to suit a specific case'

Verma committee member justice Leila Seth says that the juvenile accused in the Delhi gang-rape can be reformed.

(Common sense tells us that a law, ANY law, must be able to be tweaked to suit any particular case. In one's humble opinion, no law should be so watertight that justice cannot mete out in any particular case.

This India, My India…

Stuck in Oman for 30 years, Indian dies awaiting exit pass. Reduced to an undocumented migrant after his bag was stolen, Keralite approached Indian officials with his ration cad, NCC certificate. But they insisted on 'nativity certificate"

(Me: Only Indian babus (bureaucrats) can be so hard-hearted and stick to rules to asinine levels. We Indians may lampoon and lambast the Westerners for their customs, traditions and ways of life, but fact is, they are more civilized when dealing with their fellow-countrymen in distress).

Health tip…

How are eggs enriched by Omega-3?

By altering hen's diets to include Omega-3 rich foods such as flaxseed, eggs may contain up to 3 times more Omega-3 fatty acids.

Sleeping on sides? Tuck one pillow between your legs. It will help support your back and you will sleep comfortably.

**

Involving your kids in planning and preparing meals can help them eat healthier without complaining.

(Absolutely right – kids rebel when parents try to force feed them something they don't like)

Fried food ups cancer risk...

Regular consumption of deep-fried foods like French fries, fried chicken and doughnuts is linked to an increased risk of prostate cancer, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in US has found…

Mindchow

I want to live my life so that the nights are not full of regrets.

**

Deft definition!

Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

"In politics, a day is not a day, week is not a week and month is not exactly a month" – Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress minister.

Think it over…

"Kitsch is the inability to admit that shit exists" – Milan Kundera

And a parting kick…

Two cannibals, a father and son, were elected by their tribe to go out and get something to eat. They walked deep into the jungle and waited by the path. Along came a little old man. The son said, "Oh dad, there's one."

"No," said the father. "There's not enough meat to even feed he dogs."

A while later, a really fat man comes along. The son said, "Hey dad, he's got plenty of meat."

"No," the father said. "We'd die of a heart attack from the fat. Let's wait."

About an hour later comes a gorgeous woman. Said the son, "Now there's nothing wrong with that one, dad. Let's eat her."

"No," said the father. "We won't eat her either."

"Why not?" asked the son.

"Because we're going to take her back alive and eat your mother."
