Family finds missing tortoise after 30 years.

A Brazilian family found their pet tortoise 30 years after she went missing. The Almeida family discovered Manuela, who they lost in 1982, alive and well inside a box containing an old record player in a room used by their late father – who dies earlier this month – to keep broken electrical items. Son Leandro told a website, "I looked at her. And at that moment, I turned white. I just could not believe what I was seeing at that point."

(Me: WOW! Did it exist without food, water and light and remained stationary for 30 years? Incredible!)

Old –is-gold humour…

When the graveside service had no more than terminated, there was a tremendous burst of thunder accompanied by a distant lightning bolt and more rumbling thunder. The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, "Well, she's there and it is His problem now."

Think it over…

"The worst thing about movie-making is thatit's like life: nobody can go back to correct the mistakes" – Pauline Kael.

News of the day…

Most violent of Nirbhaya's six assailants is declared a minor.

(This is why many call laws an ass. How could there be hard and fast rules and cast iron rules that cannot be modified or amended to serve public weal? Why should the country be government by the letter of the law?)

Doc: You have acute tonsillitis.
Girl: Why, thank you! And you have a cute nose.

Mindchow

We have forty million reasons for failure, but not a single excuse.

Health tip…

Diuretic in nature, radish (manjal mullangi/mula) helps with kidney function and urinary disorders (UTI)

**
News of our times…

Kamal's latest film banned in several states including TN

(a live 'democracy' demo in India!)

Weird world…

Fast-food funeral: Hearse stops for tribute to burger fan

Mourners at a fast-food fan's funeral arranged for his hearse to make one last drive-thru visit before reaching the cemetery. WWII veteran David Kime Jr, who died on Saturday, considered lettuce on a burger his version of healthy eating, daughter Linda Phiel said. To give him a whopper of a send-off, the funeral procession stopped at a burger centre and each mourner got a snack. Kime got one last burger too, placed atop his flag-draped coffin. Phiel said it wasn't a joke, but a happy way of honouring her father and the things that brought him joy.
