See where the drift goes! Many would be without their OOs if the law comes into effect and a lot would be HANGED, no doubt.
In fact these subhumans should be hanged by their OOs.
There are many self-styled "seers" who advocate pacifism and tolerance, telling the relatives and parents to show the other cheek and forgive the person or persons who violated "their" sister/daughter/girlfriend/wife or even mother and murdered them in the most horrible and grotesque manner.
Let us wait and see what these "saints" would say when it is their mother/sister/wife etc-or would they join forces with the animal (not even animals would do this)who did this and condone their actions?
When the wronged person is your neighbor/country man/or stranger etc it is very easy....to pontificate..............just see the callousness of the policemen who wasted and hour to decide who will take the injured persons to which hospital---instead of taking prompt action to save a life.
And if a law comes into effect to castrate or hang the rapist, many politicians/policemen would be without you know what or history.
So the venerated politicians including a lady (how strange!!) is batting for the ones who rape and not for the women who have been subjected to a crime a hundred times worse than murder.
That is politics, there is no father, mother, brother, sister, daughter etc, just the "dog eating dog" world of "POLITRICS"

Thanks for your comments but i think you misread the intention in my mail. Giving strong punishment is not Utopian strategy but it is a necessity, besides that if there a way to satisfy needs then this kind of ripe will reduce for sure (for eg: Mumbai and other major cities worldwide). Get them Aids and go to hell and let other normal people live without fear. But in India, if a raper is a son of a minister of politician there will no case or any action specially if he was rapes a girl from low caste. What Arundathi said is correct in this case.
Ms. Sugatha Kumari said once she have to wear Purdha to go to Chala market to prevent staring from men. So purdah giving safety for sure. If there is an incident there will be a cause. If girls wearing half skirt / trousers to show their thighs and bottom cut T Shirts to show their breasts, then say to people don't stare at me or not catch me is impossible. Men also human being. First not give chance and that is very important.
PS Koya said to get married to stop raping. This is not a correct answer nowadays because most of the rape cases in India is done by married people who age are 45-50 or above, and having wife and children alive. So doing marriage is not will be a solution for rapes.
There are many things to change in our society which cannot be done in a day. Let Govt try their way, but ruling must be equal from a-z person in India. Mohammed Nabi (SA) said 'if my daughter Fathima steal any thing i will cut her hand'. That is called equality in front of Law regardless of who. Why Gandiji said we have to study many things from Umer (RA)?
Noted a Facebook comment, as if the girl sent to Singapore to get better treatment, then the rapers must send to Saudi Arabia to get better punishment.
In India, media, cinema, dress codes, mingled education, mingling, serials, policies, police, political influences, partiality of Judges, fooling of courts by advocates all other related things are equal cause of this kind of issues.
No parents in India can live with peace in mind in India novadays - that is the bitter truth.
