[www.keralites.net] Indian order of precedence

Dear Friends,

Subject: Implications Of Massive Migration To EU And Other Countries

This is in continuation of our circulatory mail of September 7 on the subject of "Germany's Demographic Revolution" Or "Islamisation Of Germany By Germany". The latter part of that briefly covered what we have put in the title of the current mail.

We are doing this despite the flack received by us from a couple of friends, who feel we in India need not bother about what has been an "European headache". We humbly disagree with those friends.

In order to understand and appreciate the nuances of the on-going and unprecedented phenomenon of mass migration, we wrote to an old-time friend in the US.He is a remarkable scholar -cum-strategic analyst and what not. His prompt response is reproduced below:

There is no question that a humanitarian crisis has emerged. Refugees are moving into Greece, Macedonia, Hungary and Austria. These countries do not have the economic strength to absorb any of them.On the other hand, throughout Europe, the images of men, women and children struggling to protect their lives have created tremendous pressure for the EU to take in refugees.Germany wants more people to keep its economy growing and its vice chancellor, Sigmar Gabriel has announced that Germany is ready to take half million refugees every year for several years. Sweden is short of manpower and so is Iceland. Most of the European countries have negative birthrate. They need people , particularly the young people to man their economy for future. In addition to Europe, Brazil and Venezuela have asked for refugees.

It is more than likely that many of these refugees will not be able to assimilate the European culture that is alien to them. They will also face painful racial discrimination. As a result, a section of these Syrians and Afghans who are coming in to these European countries will remain isolated and turn hostile toward the land they had adopted. Some of them will embrace extremism of one kind or the other.

This happened in England and France, and to a certain extent in Germany, Denmark and Belgium. This is bound to happen.Syrians, beside being moderate Muslims, have a strong Syrian civilizational identity and some of them will not accept the European cultural diktat based upon racial and religious "superiority."

However, Germany, Sweden and some others need able-bodied people to keep their standard of living. They are availing of this opportunity and I am happy that these people who were driven out of their homes by endless war and terrorists have been given homes.I am also aware of the potential trouble. But some of that can be avoided through policies which would integrate the newcomers with the existing population. In this context, United States has done very well. In fact, in America the black citizens are treated worse than the immigrants. Canada has also done well to integrate the immigrants.

What is important though is that this is not going to solve the Syrian problem. West is deeply involved in creating chaos and bloodshed in Iraq, Syria and Libya. Unless West adopts a policy which will stop their form of intervention in these areas, the crisis will not only continue but it could get even bigger.

We have highlighted the parts that appealed to us most. Although a demographic issue, it seems to be a question of demand and supply. We in India feel scared. Yes, India had in the past given shelters to many and have never refused this to any community. But, we cannot afford that luxury any longer.

The friend has hinted at the risk involved but does not feel that to outweigh the humanitarian consideration. For us in India, in-built security implications will be more over-riding, especially given the mental orientation of some important sections from the minority community and governments' open apathy to the woes and hurt feelings of the members of the majority community.

Though not in this context, we may here quote what theEuropean Union's head of foreign affairs and security policy Ms. Federica Mongherini, has said recently, "political Islam" is a firm part of Europe's future." Can we, in this context, minimise the inherent demographic threat in this gargantuan migration process under way?

Friends, we hope you will agree and so please keep pretty close watch on the developing situation or handling of this immigration or refugee-resettlement problem.

Vandemataram,

Your sevak,
D.C. Nath
