After you departed

With your sun of warmth

I sit by the igloo's shade

In the polar night

Cluching shibboleths of snow

All our lives

We built icons of ice

For a bit of warmth

In the end

There is an other storm

And more of snow

Still there is a transformation

In the arctic sky

Beyond its frozen rim

Beyond the horizon of cold

I see arising

A new glow of warmth

So much resembling

The remembered sunrise

Of your eyes.
