Re: [www.keralites.net] Difference between : Growth / Dividend in MF

Dear Sir

in case of dividend payout, u get dividends when the dividend is declared on the record date of dividend. The mutual fund credits your bank account with the dividend amount IF you have availed ecs facility or givesyou a cheque of the dividend amount after the dividend record date

in case of growth option u don't get a dividend at all. U can only redeem it that is u can sell it.

in case of dividend reimvestment option when the dividend is declared on the record date, the amount you get is reinvested in the scheme that is the units of the scheme are purchased on the current(latest) nav/market price of the scheme. You get units.

These are the basic differences. YOU can redeem that is sell your mutual funds. The capital gains & mutual fund dividend income will be taxed as per income tax rules for the assessment years.

For income tax rules Please check by typing income tax India in google search.

For mutual fund please check amfi website, &The mutual fund company's website. U can also check with your mutual fund agent or broker for further details.

With regards

Debashish
