I am with the firm opinion that the salary of MLAs should positively be revised periodically. They represents the public. They should be given a decent salary and facilities to live. It should be linked with living cost index. A class 4 employee of nationalised bank or LIC are presently getting a salary better than that of an MLA.. I feel it is rediculas. They represent the masters (public). Masters should always have a better position than that of servants (paid employees).
Public representatives are not precipitates. They are the integral part. and a cross section of the society. It is well known that during zero hour the opposition normally bring issues and agitate. But all the members actively participate in discussions after zero hour.Media now a days over emphasise the zero hour incidents and neglect the major discussions in their reports.
Again, imagine a well desciplined Mahathma Gandhi, fighting for independence without violating the British rules. Without 'uppu sathyagraha' and paying the taxes in time & without khaadi movement. I wish all my friend will agree that by repeated agitation only democracy can exist.
Whether any of the participants who worries about the Rs.20,000.00 hike in the salary of MLAs are worried about the millions of crores of rupees worth facilities the present cenntal government is extending to Ambanees and others, keeping in mind that the total subsidy to the public on various accounts are of thousands of crores only. Do any of us have the opinion that the Public representatives & public should act fully desciplined and keep mum without agitation in the Assemblees and out side.
I fell that we have developed a ill culture of blaming politics and polititions in all matters.Or at lest it has become a part of defined 'Club gentleness'. I feel pitty on such fabricated a face of a part of the high class society.
Now regarding Nirmal Madhavan. Let me to put up a simple question. Assume that you are at the Railway ticket reservation counter in the que for a sleeper booking to Delhi. You are the third person in the que. The clerk at the counter calls forward one of his friends standing at the back of the que (say 30th in the que) and does all for him for one sleeper on the same day you intend to travel. When you reach the front of the counter you find that you are RAC No.1. What will be your response.
Nirmal Madhavan a 22000 (engg. entrance) rank student get a seat in a college where the lowest rank admitted is 1500. I strongly object this and consider it as an act of in-justice to the public. We must respond to this, we must strongly agitate as humen beings of self respect. If I do not agitate against , I may have to answer to the next generation for that irresponsibility.
