Allergy sufferers, your home may be less of a refuge than you would like. Even bed, that sanctum of solace, could be making your allergies worse. According to today's infographic, there are approximately 1,000 to 10,000 dust mites in the average bed. (Cue Phantom of the Opera Overture.)
Now that we are all aware of the small vermin taking up residence in our residence, aggravating our allergies, what are our options? Regularly washing bedding and covering mattresses with plastic are two tactics. Unfortunately, dust mites are not the only culprits. Dust (that thick film over your fan blades), mold, dead roaches, pollen, and pet dander all top the hit-list of major household allergy contributors.
