എന്റെ മക്കള്‍ക്ക്‌ മലയാളം എഴുതാനും വായിക്കാനും അറിയില്ല എന്ന് പറയാന്‍ പണ്ട് മലയാളിക്ക് നാണക്കേടായിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് ആ അവസ്ഥ മാറി.. രഞ്ജിനി ഹരിദാസിനെ പോലെ "എനിക്ക് മലയാളം ശരിക്ക് വരില്ല " എന്ന് പറയുന്ന പുതു തലമുറയെ വാര്‍ത്തെടുക്കാന്‍ നമ്മുടെ സ്കൂളുകളും , രക്ഷിതാക്കളും മത്സരിക്കുകയാണ്. കുട്ടികള്‍ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷ പഠിക്കരുത് എന്നല്ല... പക്ഷെ അത് നമ്മുടെ മാതൃഭാഷയെ ഇത്രയും വലിയ അപരാധമായി കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് കാട്ടിക്കൊടുതവരുത് . പിഴയും തല്ലും കിട്ടുന്ന കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് ആ ഭാഷ എന്തോ വലിയ ഒരു കുറ്റമായി കാണാനേ സാധിക്കൂ. പിടിച്ചു പറിയും , മോഷണവും മലയാള ഭാഷയും ഒന്ന് പോലെ കുറ്റമാണോ???
അധ്യാപകര്‍ക്ക് കഴിവുണ്ടെകില്‍ ഇതിന്റെയൊന്നും ആവശ്യമില്ല...
