The romantic sweetness of love blended with the vivid colors of summer was the inspiration for this colorful summer berries and honey shoot. Joel and Amber Wedding Photography dreamed of creating a lush, private berry hideaway where their bride and groom could celebrate their love.
With summer full of romance, they wanted to marry the delicious thoughts of the season with a romantic concept. So they focused on bringing together the colors, flavors, and emotion of sweetly tart summer berries, and sweet golden honey. Their color scheme was inspired by bright red strawberries, deeply romantic blackberries, and lush raspberries and blueberries. They then matched these vivid colors with golden honey, greenery, and a deep brown to enhance the feel of a beautiful berry patch. The florals and design were done by Kathleen Bernal Events who brought together design elements that enhanced the romantic feelings of this lush, natural setting.
From the photographers:
The venue we chose was a berry farm in the heart of North Alabama. Its rows of blooming blueberry bushes and scattered beehives made the perfect backdrop for our shoot. The smell of blossoms and the quiet humming of bees accentuated the romantic mood of the evening!
The dress, designed by Kenneth Winston, was chosen to reflect both the elegance and sweet simplicity of our theme. We chose a classic, elegant look for our bride's hair and makeup, which was beautifully created by Under The Veil.
We wanted to bring in some unique, romantic elements that enhanced our vision of summer berries. Gourmet chocolate covered strawberries, created to celebrate the bride and groom by The Chocolate Crocodile, were perfectly luscious and delicious. Our bride and groom were refreshed by sips of Piper and Leaf Artisan Tea Co.'s Briar Patch Brew sweet tea. This tea, so fittingly called Briar Patch Brew, combines locally grown and blended blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, currants, sage, and lemon balm. It's bright red color perfectly matched our color scheme.Strawberry and chocolate honeybee macarons, berry meringues, a semi-naked cake, berry and honeycomb-inspired white chocolate Oreos, and several berry and honey infused dishes rounded out the evening's fresh and romantic menu.
Besides the invitations, menu cards, and place settings, our paper designer, Ledgewood Fine Stationary, created a honeycomb inspired seating chart to greet guests as they entered the reception. We finished off the evening with blackberry inspired favors. These small baskets contained handcrafted blackberry scones, local honey, and fresh blackberries. As each guest savored the summer flavors of their gift, our perfect evening sun slipped quietly and gracefully beyond the horizon.
