1. Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh

Bandhavgarh National Park is home to more than 50 tigers. The park is spread across 100 km, and is open from October to June. However, the best time to spot a tiger is from April to June. Peak summer sounds like a bad idea, but it's during the summers that these animals tend to be around water bodies where you can easily spot them. There are other animals at the park as well, including leopard, fox, bear, deer and Indian fox. The temperature at this time is normally around 40-45 degrees Celsius. The closest airport is Jabalpur, which is 197 km from this wildlife park.

2. Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan

Ranthambore is Indias largest national park and is spread across 1,334 square kilometres. This is the most preferred national park for wildlife photographers. The park is a dry jungle though, with ancient structures giving it a rustic feel. You can easily spot tigers and leopards around these structures, but there are three lakes in the park, namely Padam Talo, Raj Talao and Milak Taleo, around which cubs and tigress tend to gather. Ranthambore is open from October to June, but if a tiger is what you want to see, go here in April and May. Its already hot in Ranthambore with temperatures reaching 35-40 degree Celsius. The nearest airport is Jaipur. 

3. Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh

Kanha is known for its open meadows and a wide variety of animals. This park is not only famous for tigers, but also barasingha, an endangered specie of deer, which is found only here. The best way to spot a tiger here is via an elephant safari. Kanha is open from October to June, but tigers are seen mainly in the months between April and June. Currently, the temperature is 36 degree Celsius, and the closest airport is Jabalpur. 

4. Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand

Corbett is the most popular national park in India, and is famous more for wild elephants, than tigers. But you do get to see tigers here. There are numerous grasslands and water bodies that attract tigers and their prey. The best time to locate a tiger is between the months of March and June. The temperature is set at 29 degree Celsius right now. The nearest airport is Patnagar which is 50 km away.

5. Satpura National Park, Madhya Pradesh

Satpura is a lesser known national park in our country. However, the best thing about it is that this is the only park where you can set off on foot to explore the place. In summer, tigers are found near Sonbharda river. April and May are the months you can enjoy wildlife sightings, especially for tigers. Currently, its peak summer already at Satpura with temperatures nearing 40 degree Celsius. The nearest airport is Bhopal.
