Rules for Politeness in Different Countries

We are lucky to live in an age when world travel is easier than it's ever been before. Travel allows you to broaden your horizons, see unique and unusual sights, meet people you would never otherwise come across and expose yourself to cultures that differ hugely from your own. However, with this comes a responsibility to respect the cultures you enter into as a guest. Each one has its own specific customs and politeness rules, and some of them may well surprise you. This illustration provides a handy guide to the unspoken rules of politness you will find in countries around the world, so you can avoid being frowned upon. I found many of them absolutely fascinating!
