Tamil Nadu rains have wreaked havoc across the state. Vehicles can be seen floating, schools and colleges have been shutdown, and total chaos has taken over the state capital. We take a look at 10 images which sum up the horror that is Tamil Nadu rains. These images were share by locals on Twitter and other social media platforms. 1. Chennai has recorded a mind-boggling 966 m of rain in November so far.
2. As many as 59 people have died due to heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu.
3. In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am IST on November 15, Chennai has recorded 265 mm of rain.
4. Vehicles can be seen floating as the city's roads have been submerged.
5. Chennai is inching towards a new all-time high for rainfall in the month of November.
6. Schools, colleges, shops, and other small and big businesses have been closed due to incessant rains.
7. Mass displacement of population is taking place as people from low-lying areas are being moved to safer shores.
8. Flights were delayed, trains cancelled, and road traffic paralyzed as rains refused to stop.
9. Subways have been submerged due to heavy rains and people can be seen waist-deep in water at several places.
10. Shortcomings of the civic administration in the region have been exposed as the common man continues to suffer.
