Washing machine, printer can steal files from your computer! Can washing machines steal all the important files on your computer? This may sound way too advanced in regard to the technological advancement made in human history, but this is a fact. Hackers have devised a way to steal data from your computers without breaking into the computer network via the Internet. According to a group of security researchers, hackers can simply turn an office printer into a radio with the use of a new software. It may sound uncanny but Manhattan startup researchers have demonstrated that it is certainly possible. Ang Cui and his team of researchers showed that devices such as printer, washing machine and air conditioner can send signals for several kilometers without anyone noticing it. The team demonstrated that they could steal files from a computer without setting off security alarms. They infected a Pantum laser printer and played with its circuits. By quickly switching a chip's energy back and forth, the printer discharges electromagnetic radiation. But the speed is really slow when streaming information, a single letter per second. http://zeenews.india.com/news/science/washing-machine-printer-can-steal-files-from-your-computer_1642560.html ravi www.keralites.net
