Re: [www.keralites.net] HDFC LIFE Policy - ALERT

Unlawfully snatching money from anybody is absolutely unjustifiable.  If you had signed any document while depositing the amount with them, there might be some tricky clauses which would help them to win any case in the court.  You could consult a good advocate and show him the document, if there is any.  Alternatively, you could move to Banking Ombudsman or Insurance Ombudsman (if it is an insurance policy) and CDRF (Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum). If nobody makes any move against this sort of injustice, they will go on with this practice. I think, it is better, you consult a good advocate first.

Subject: [www.keralites.net] HDFC LIFE Policy - ALERT

Dears,

This mail is to bring to your kind notice that anyone of our friends taking any of the policies from HDFC should take special care. They are literally cheating the customers, by way of enrolling the customers and not paying their dues. I personally lost Rs. 50,000/-. I have taken a policy 6 years ago, paying a down payment of Rs. 50,000/- which was meant for 5 years. However, when I received the payment receipt I found my deposit was only 29,000/- and upon enquiry they said, there is deduction for commission, therefore showing this amount. Therefore, I decided not to continue with the policy and want to withdraw this but again they denied and asked me to wait for 5 years as lock-in period. After completing 5 years again I approached HDFC last year, somehow. they skipped saying some reasons.

Finally, I went to the Palghat branch this month and upon checking, they says that there is no fund available to return, all the money is lost now.

If anyone in this group can advise me if there is any possibility to recover this amount, this can be given to any poor people or any child who needs fund for his/her education.

Your kind assistance on the above shall be highly appreciated.

With best regards
Mohan K. Ponnath
