Hyderabad -Jaggery for Traffic Cops to Beat Pollution Blues :- "We have training centres and the policemen, who come for training often eat along with us. So for them, the department is planning to include jaggery and channa as part of their diet. In the next one month or so, we will find out how effective it is going to be," Jitender added.
"Channa and jaggery basically have no role in preventing pollution. They can consume them to improve their immunity.
HYDERABAD: About 32 per cent of the Hyderabad traffic police suffer from lung-related disorders like pneumonia and bronchitis because of severe air pollution, while 25 per cent face hearing impairment due to high-level of noise pollution and another seven per cent complain of eye-related problems.
Increasing air pollution due to automobile exhausts and noise is affecting the health of the traffic cops over the years. "Our policemen are prone to health disorders due to pollution. Recently, a gentleman suggested that including jaggery and channa in the diet will be beneficial to the health of traffic cops," additional commissioner of police (Traffic), Jitender has said
