[www.keralites.net] These pickle poppers have jalapeño, bacon a nd cheese packed inside too.

It's popper time!
Pickle popper time to be exact, and just like you would with a jalapeño popper, we're stuffing these fried pickles with a whole lot of cheese and um, bacon…
We found this great idea over at Food with Legs and decided to twist it up a bit Tablespoon-style by serving them on a stick.
These cute little poppers are the perfect thing to kickoff what has come to be a favorite pastime of the year. Yes, we are just six days away from the start of football season!
For me that means we are in desperate need of scrumptious football food. The guys in my life love football and I love to cook, so when football season rolls around I can't help but get a little excited for making all of the game day eats. There are wings, dips, Chex mix, cookies, beer … and this year the addition of these pickle poppers!
I also included a little dip. Don't worry though, I kept things easy by using Recipe Starters 3-Cheese Sauce and adding in a little chipotle pepper to give this dip a kick.
Let's do this!

First, grab your ingredients.

Slice each pickle in half.

Then cut off a small round of pickle from each cut side. Set the pickle slices aside and scoop out the insides of each pickle.

Toss together the Havarti cheese and bacon. Stuff each pickle with some cheese. Don't be afraid to really stuff the cheese in there! You want it packed tightly.

Place a pickle slice over the cheese and secure the pickle together with two toothpicks (the pictures shows three, but you only need two).

Set up your breading station. Now dip the pickles through the flour, then through the egg and finally into the panko breadcrumbs.

Fry the pickles for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain onto paper towels, then remove the toothpicks and stick each pickle with a wooden skewer (or just use the toothpicks).
To make the dip, add Recipe Starters 3-Cheese sauce to a small saucepan with the chipotle chile. Warm the sauce until hot and serve with the poppers.

Bite into a popper. See all that oozy cheese melting out?
That is just the best.
