THIS MOSQUE IS STUNNING. BUT YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE SUNLIGHT HITS IT. WOW.
The Nasir al-Mulk Mosque or Pink Mosque as it is also known, stands in the middle of Shiraz, Iran and is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
From the outside, the mosque seems like a fairly traditional place of worship, but the inside hides an amazing secret.
Every day, when the sunlight hits the mosque the mass of stained glass windows makes the interior flood with a rainbow of stunning colors.
The exterior of the mosque is already very beautiful…
….but it is what is inside the mosque that is truly stunning
As the early morning light streams through the windows a rainbow of colors starts to appear
The mosque was built so that the light only comes through the stained glass windows in the early mornings.
The mosque's construction began in 1876 and was completed in 1888.
The interior of the mosque is full of amazing detail
It is one of the few mosques in the world that features stain glass windows
Everywhere you turn there is amazing beauty
It is also known as the Pink Mosque because of the use of pink colored tiles that cover the interior.
Even if you are not a big fan of architecture and design, it is hard to deny this place is simply stunning.
