Little tortoises, born in captivity with genes of the Floreana Island giant tortoise species are fed in a breeding centre at the Galapagos National Park on Santa Cruz Island. Experts will try to bring back next year two species of the giant tortoise believed to be extinct. Genes from recently extinct species can live on in creatures with mixed ancestry.
