[www.keralites.net] Why blame others

Why blame others for one's own fault

Once, a gentleman was passing through a bad period. Therefore, he was living with lot of anguish.

One day, he came out for a walk in the evening to lighten up his mind. His mind was full of disgust due to problems in his family. He started scolding the God mentally for that. The essence of his abuse was – Oh God, why did you create such a world? Rather, it would have been better had you not created such a world. This world is only full of faults.

While walking murmuring like this, an old man came from somewhere and joined him. The old man had also probably come out for an evening walk. He asked, "Why are you scolding the God?"

The gentleman was surprised hearing this. He asked, "How could you read my mind?"

The old man answered, "I am myself the God."

Hearing this, the gentleman thought that he had probably met with a mad person. Therefore, he increased his pace of walking. Now, the old man held the hands of the gentleman and said, "You are wearing a pair of good shoes. Whom do they belong to?"

The gentleman thought that one has to even face such a mad person when the time is bad. He said with a little annoyed tone, "What a surprising person you are? When I am wearing them, they obviously are mine."

"You are right. Please see that though the shoes are good, they have started cracking on the right side."

The gentleman said, "After taking so much of money, what can I possibly do if the cobbler gives bad leather?"

The old man pulled his hand and told in a rather hoarse tone, "What a beautiful reasoning? The shoes are yours. But how is it that the fault is of the cobbler if the leather cracks? Is it not the fault of your walking with a tilt to the right side? All of yours reasoning are like this. The God has created this world so beautifully. When asked whom does the world belong to, you all answer 'it is ours'. Without knowing how to live in this world, how come you all are blaming the creator of this world – the God - when the time is bad?"

Saying this, the old man vanished. When the gentleman returned to his home, he realized that the fault was in his walking.
