Booking of LPG by SMS and IVRS in 18 States
With a view to provide better services to the customers and to reduce the scope for irregularities, Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies, OMCs namely, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have introduced the facility of refill booking through Short Messaging Service (SMS) and Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) in 18 States. These States are, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Puducherry and UT of Chandigarh, covering, 2965 LPG distributorships and about 4.36 crore LPG customers. Giving this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri R.P.N. Singh stated that under this system, there is a facility for confirmation of the refill booking and the time of the booking to the customers along with information on the likely date when the refill would be supplied.

How many Language Option?
IVR system has option for three language 1)Local Langauge, 2)English, 3) Hindi. You can choose your option by pressing 1 , 2 or 3.How the system Identify the Distributor ?
After selecting the language option , System will ask the Customer to enter the telephone no of Distributor with STD code. For example if land line number of the Distributor is 24334466 then dial 03324334466 for Kolkata or 04424334466 for Chennai.
How the system Identify the customer ?
Once Distributor is identified correctly ( if not identified IVR system will give message accordingly ) then System will prompt to customer to enter the Consumer number. Customer should dial the numeric part of the customer number ( eg. If the customer number is 12345, then dial 12345 and if customer number is A12345, then also dial 12345 ). If you are not aware of correct Consumer Number please refer your Last Refill Cash Memo or Contact Distributor.I VR system will prompt the user regarding the prefix or suffix alphabets and take the input accordingly. ( eg if there are customer numbers 12345, A12345 and B12345 with the same Distribtuor, then the system will prompt the customer to dial 1 for 12345, dial 2 for A12345 and dial 3 for B12345 ).
How to book Refill ?
After Distributor and Customer number are identified properly, then the system will ask for the option of refill booking and for other services. Pl note the options Press 1 for Refill booking, Press 2 for Complaint, Press 3 for Enquiry of last booking . Once option for refill booking is given refill booking will be taken and booking reference number will be prompted and SMS will be sent to your mobile number.

How to register personal mobile number by SMS ?
If you are using the SMS facility for the first time, then SMS IOC < STD Code + Distributor's Tel. Number > < Consumer Number > to xxxx.For example, in case the distributor's telephone number is 26024289 and consumer number is QX00827C, SMS shall be send as follow : IOC 1126024289 QX00827C. For subsequent bookings, send SMS IOC to xxxxxxxx.Once a customer registers his / her mobile number, subsequent refill bookings can be made by sending an SMS < IOC > to the same mobile number where booking is made .
Registration
How to Register my phone number as personal number?
Once booking is completed, system will ask for the option of registering the caller number as personal number. You have to press 1 for registering the Mobile Number / Telephone Number . If confirmed, then the mobile / land line number will be registered as the customers personal number .
What is the Advantages of registering phone number ?
If you register your phone number as your personal number, then from next time onwards steps 1 to 5 are not necessary and as and when a call comes from this number, customer will be identified by the system. Moreover, SMS will be sent to the registered number ( provided registered number is mobile number ) once booking is made, after cash memo is printed and refill delivery is made. SMS will come if the booking is cancelled for any reason. SMS will be sent even if the refill booking is made from any other phone number or any other mode also.
How Many phone number can be registered with one consumer number ?
You can register three Telephone numbers(mobile and landline) with one consumer number. However SMS will be sent to your first Registered Mobile Number.
Deregistration/Change of Number
How to Change my registered Phone number ?
Pl dial the IVRS number from your registered Number and it will give you following option.
1) Refill Booking , 2) Complaint , 3) Enquiry of Last Refill Booking , 4) Change of Personal registration number.
Please select Option 4 , and then System will ask you to press 1 to cancel your Personal registered Number.
How many consumer nos refills can be booked with one Mobile / landline number ?
If you have registered your Mobile/Landline number then you can book refills for only one Consumer number. If you have not registered your Mobile Number / Landline number and book two consecutive refills to one consumer number then the system will auto register your Mobile /Landline Number. If you are using your mobile/landline number and do not want to register then you can book three consumers refills by booking them alternatively.
What will happen if I have lost my mobile or changed my mobile number ?
Please visit your Distributor and inform him about the same with an application. They will forward the same to IOC and will cancel the Registration of your mobile number.
However with your new mobile you will be able to book and register the same.
