[www.keralites.net] Banana sculptures in photos

Japanese artist Keisuke Yamada has become an Internet sensation
sculpting people out of bananas using only a toothpick and spoon.
Check out these photos of his new collection.

1)  A banana chills out in a deck chair. The sunbathing banana is part of a new series of bananas which has recently
been unveiled by Japan- born Keisuke Yamada.

2) Homer Simpson as a banana. Yamada said: "I really enjoy seeing that I can make a simple banana come alive by sculpting away at the flesh."
3) From characters, people to architecture, a fairytale castle features in the new collection.
4) This model of Poseidon with five horses took Yamada two hours to complete as opposed to the typical 30 minutes.
"The Poseidon work is my most ambitious so far and I'm pleased at how it has turned out."
5) The talented Yamada himself with one of his pieces of fruity artwork.
6) Marge Simpson carved in fruit.
7) Yamada also draws his inspiration from fictional characters. An impressive banana dragon.
8) As part of his Royal Wedding banana collection, 23-year-old Yamada created Prince William in the yellow fruit.
9) Uncanny: The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is moulded out of a banana.
10) Guess who? Yamada has got Davy Jones from 'Pirates of the Caribbean' down to every detail.
11) A scary-looking skeleton. Talking about his quirky looking sculptures,
Yamada said: "I always eat the bananas after I have photographed them."
12) Yamada's work is short-lived. The bizarre artist said it takes 30 minutes to sculpt the bananas,
takes a photograph, posts it online and then eats the final masterpiece before it starts to rot.
13) Elvis himself carved out of a banana.
