[www.keralites.net] Fwd: An Entire Flight Overheard the Captain's Intentions (Rude)

A Dirty-Minded Captain and a Red-Faced Stewardess

A jumbo jet is on its final approach coming in to Toronto Airport. The pilot comes on the intercom.

"This is your Captain speaking. We're on our final descent into Toronto. I want to thank you for flying with us today and I hope you enjoy your stay in Toronto".

joke

He forgot to switch off the intercom. Now the whole plane can hear his conversation from the cockpit. The co-pilot says to the pilot, "Well, skipper, what you gonna do in Toronto?"

"Well," says the skipper, "first I'm gonna check into the hotel and take a big crap ... then I'm gonna take that new stewardess with the huge tits out for dinner..... then I'm gonna wine and dine her, take her back to my room and give it to her big-time all night."

joke

Everyone on the plane hears this and immediately begins looking up and down the aisle trying to get a look at the new stewardess. Meanwhile the new stewardess is at the very back of the plane. She's so embarrassed that she starts to run to try and get to the cockpit to turn the intercom off.

Halfway down the aisle, she trips over an old lady's bag and down she goes.

The old lady leans over and says: "No need to hurry, dear. He's gotta use the bathroom first."

[www.keralites.net] Fwd: Have a desk job? Walk 11 kilometres a day!

Have a desk job? Walk 11 kilometres a day!

Daily Mirror

Research suggests that sitting increases waist circumference and the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases

Spending too much time sitting down is bad for your heart, a new study shows. To avoid the risk, people may have to walk at least seven miles a day.

The study revealed those who had desk jobs registered a bigger waist circumference -38 inches compared to 37 inches -and approximately one BMI unit difference. They also had a higher risk of cardiovascular disease -2.2% compared to 1.6% over 10 years. The research suggests waist circumference increases by two centimetres, and risk of cardiovascular diseases by 0.2%, for every additional hour of sitting beyond five hours.

Dr William Tigbe of Warwick Medical School at the University of Warwick, who led the research, said: "Longer time spent in sedentary posture is significantly associated with larger waist circumference, higher triglycerides (fat in the blood) and lower HDL cholesterol, all adding up to increased risk of heart disease. The levels associated with zero risk factors were walking more than 15,000 steps per day, which is equivalent to walking seven to eight miles, or spending seven hours per day upright."

The study involved volunteers from the Royal Mail in Glasgow.Only apparently healthy non smokers, with no personal history of heart attack, stroke, coronary heart disease, hypertension or diabetes were included. Fellow researcher Professor Mike Lean of the University of Glasgow's School of Medicine said: "Our evolution to become the human species did not equip us well to spending all day sitting down. We probably adapted to be healthiest spending seven to eight hours every day on our feet, as hunters or gatherers. Our new research supports that idea. The `bottom' line is that if you want to be sure of having no risks of heart disease, you must keep off your bottom."

[www.keralites.net] Dr. Sarojini Agarwal Is Mother to 800 Abandoned Girls! - She Lost Her Daughter 30 Years Ago [1 Attachment]

She Lost Her Daughter 30 Years Ago. Today, Dr. Sarojini Agarwal Is Mother to 800 Abandoned Girls!

A cradle outside a home in Lucknow may look strange for passersby but for orphaned and abandoned girls, it ensures love, warmth and motherly care. For over 30 years, this cradle has seen many a baby girl being left in it only to be taken care of by another mother who made it her life's mission to help them.

Dr Sarojini Agarwal, now 80 years old, is 'Maa' to the scores of girls and young women who live at Manisha Mandir (as the destitute home is called), her home and the ashram in Lucknow where she raises her adopted daughters. Interestingly, the destitute home owes its origin to a tragedy, which had struck Sarojini over three decades ago.

Her eight-year-old daughter Manisha died in a road accident in 1978. What made the catastrophe unbearably painful for Dr Agarwal was the fact that she was driving the two-wheeler on which little Manisha was riding pillion. Why my child? The question nagged her persistently till, as Agarwal says, the answer finally came to her.
