You write " Water, Earth, and Air are indeed also state." Obviously you do not know even the fundamentals of science. Water, Earth, and Air are not statesof matter but forms of matter which is entirely different.

Could this be a matter of semantics? The more I study the surtas and science, the more they seem to be saying the same thing. It is taking science awhile to catch up, but the chase is fun to watch.

So maybe the translation is wrong? Maybe the original text was talking about states of existence, not 'elements,' as defined by 'modern' science?

If you assume this is all primitive nonsense, it is easy to convince yourself of that. But if you consider that maybe the rishis did know what they were talking about, you start trying to understand what they really meant, and why it is important.

Vitalism, the idea that 'dead' energy is actually living, intelligent, purposed spirit. This way of thinking lead an Indian scientist to discover metal fatigue, if memory serves. It is also consistent with the self-organizing quality of nature. The electric and magnetic forces associated with plasma (~99% of all matter in space!) 'magically' organize the plasma into spiraling currents, that can coalesce into galactic thunderbolts, that, when spent, collapse into a string of stars, or a galaxy when the thunderbolt is of that scale.

Collapsing plasma currents cause fusion that creates all of the elements, contrary to the stellar gravitational fusion theory. -Ultimately creating all of us. Whether that was a sign of intelligence remains to be seen. I think we are going to find out soon.

So the rishis were way ahead of Newton, Einstein, and Quantum Theory!

Fire is not an element. Instead it is just a state of matter which is heated to a high high temperature. Similarly space is just an illusion created by the limitations of our vision.
Sanghis boast all the time about the greatness of Gita. But this is an example of Gita churning out onsense. All ancient scriptures contain such nonsense.

The Lord should not have used the five elements which are chemical in nature, because no spiritualist likes chemicals.  Also, He has forgotten to mention that He created life from life, because religionists know,  according to authentic information from reliable sources available with them, that life was created from life. (Of course they don't have any proof, but they have a right to bluff because they call themselves spiritualists and know when the first life came into existence and how it came. If you don't agree, they have also a right to hurl abusive words at you and label you as an ignoramus).

  Science can't tell you your own date of birth and hence it is quite obvious that it can't tell us about the origin of first life. At present the practice of science in the field of "origin of life and species" is only an act pure waste of public money in mental speculation.
