Good Morning all friends...!
We all know about the musical culture of Malayalam...! How did we get that and the answer is very simple....! From a musician king..... !! Even at his mothers womb, he was called as "Garbha Sreeman" (that is one who had claim to the throne even before his birth..) for whom a known poet, Erayiamman Thampi was brought to the court to compose the immortal lullaby ' omanathinkal kidavo ….' when he was born...!! The baby was new hope to the royal family and had his education received all the attention that it deserved and he became proficient in 18 languages as well as he could compose poems in all these languages.....!! Musicians from all over India and abroad visited Travancore during his reign and his era is considered as the golden era of Malayalam....!! The Trinities of Carnatic music - Thygaraja, Syama Sasthri, Muthuswamy Dikshithar, lived and enriched music during this time...! Now we have a clear - cut vision about whom I am mentioning about.....!! He is none other than our beloved Royal Highness Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma, the musician among kings and King among musicians...! He has around 400 compositions to his credit in both Carnatic and Hindustani music.....!! We complete 169th year of his demise....!! Heartfelt tributes to him for giving us a glorified culture and an excellent taste for good music....!!
Beautiful rendering of Shri Neyyattinkara Vasudevan., a true traditionalist.and one of the greatest musicians...! Nothing to beat pure Carnatic Music..! A swathithirunaal krithi in enchanting Vasantha ragam...!
