[www.keralites.net] Photographer Integrates His Own Body Into Landscape Photos [10 Attachments]

For the past five years Finnish-American photographer Arno Rafael Minkkinen has been photographing himself in natural surroundings. Using scenic locations and shooting in black and white he is able to seamlessly integrate his limbs, torso and body into the locations that he chooses to photograph.

His work blurs the lines between his own body and the natural world. Minkkinen prefers to photograph himself when alone and doesn't allow anybody else to operate the camera otherwise he believes they then become the photographer. Perhaps even more impressive though is that although the photos appear calm Minkkinen will normally put himself at risk when shooting by standing in water with strong currents and balancing himself precariously, sometimes from huge heights just to get the perfect shot. You can see more of his work here.
