Misconceptions first …
1. India is an existential threat to Pakistan
Pakistanis believe that India has never accepted Pakistan as an independent state and she is an existential threat to Pakistan. This propaganda has been promoted by Pak army to ensure that the control of Pakistan remains with the army. This theory is fed to the children right from their birth, thereby nurturing hatred towards India in young minds.
2. Hindus are an evil race
Hindus have no moral values, they worship snakes monkeys and mice. They cannot fight with valour, but are cunning and deceptive, and should never be trusted.
3. One Pakistani Sipahi is equal to ten Indian soldiers.
Indians, specifically Hindus are physically weak and timid. During 1965 war, Pakistan had put up these posters. When Gen. Musharraf orchestrated the Kargil misadventure, he brushed aside the chances of Indian retaliation wtih a casual statement - Baniye hain, kya ladenge ? (They are merchants, they can't fight)
Pakistanis feel that they are white and good looking whereas Indians are black and ugly.
5. India's foreign policy is based on Chanakya Neeti
Pakistanis believe that Chanakya was an evil and cunning man who preached deception. They believe that India's foreign Policy is based on Chanakya's doctrines. It may sound laughable to us, but I have heard a Pakistani security analyst (whatever that means :p), terming Arth-Shashtra as a book of Politics of deception( and not Economics).
6. India is a country of Hindus
In spite of the fact that India has more Muslims than Pakistan, or at least the same population, Pakistanis think that India is a Hindu country and Pakistan has a right to represents Muslims of the world. It is another thing that all those Muslims that migrated from India to Pakistan are still called Mohajirs. MQM (Muhajir Qaumi Movement) now rechristened as Muttahida Qaumi Movement is the party of Mohjirs. Okay, now some news bits about MQM. Right now when you are reading this article, an operation by Rangers is going on in Karachi against MQM to flush it out of Karachi. MQM head Altaf Hussain has been termed as traitor for speaking against Rangers. He has been accused of taking funds from RAW, to carry on disruptive activities in Karachi. Altaf Hussan has requested India, US, UK, UN and the whole world to coerce Pakistan to stop this persecution of MQM.
7. Pakistan won the 1965 war and Kargil war with India
Pakistanis believe that Pakistan defeated India in 1965 war and inflicted heavy causalities on Indian forces in Kargil War. As has been said by Gen. Musharraf – We caught Indians by throat. It is another thing that Pakistan suffered double the causalities since it never expected India to retaliate with artillery and was denying any involvement in the Kargil conflict. The situation became so bad that bodies of Pakistani soldiers lied unclaimed and were buried where they died. PM Nawaz Sharif had to rush to US to beg for a safe passage for Pak army.
7. And finally! Pakistan is a peace loving country.
Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif keeps sending mangoes to Indian PM and India in turn keeps indulging in war mongering. You can't accuse Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism just because some innocent young Pakistani guys keep crossing border without Visa and passport (like Bajrangi Bhaijan). So what if they carry grenades and guns instead of mangoes and kill innocent people.
The way we have hundreds of self-proclaimed God-men or Babas, Pakistan has hundreds of self-proclaimed security experts. Most of them are retired army officers. They keep churning out these conspiracy theories to keep their shop running. And if you have read the misconceptions mentioned above, by now you know very well why it won't be difficult to sell such theories. SO here I go with the famous conspiracy theories –
1. RAW has raised an Afghan Intelligence Agency RAM specifically to counter Pakistan
Afghanistan is an ally of India and it has offered full support to RAW in planning subversive activities in Pakistan and destabilizing Pakistan. For this purpose, RAW has raised an intelligence agency that has been named as RAM or RAAM. Now you see, the name itself leaks conspiracy theories! Some describe it as Research and Analysis Milli of Afghanistan, and some asRiyasat-i-Amoor-o-Amanat-i-Milliyah.It is said that RAM is fully controlled by RAW.
2. RAW CIA, MOSSAD, AND RAM are planning to steal Pak nukes.
One of the most acceptable conspiracy theories in Pakistan is that, CIA has joined hands with RAW to destabilize Pakistan and Afghanistan is whole heartedly assisting it through RAAM. Jews being the age old enemy of Muslims, Israel's MOSSAD naturally is a part of the nexus. The ultimate aim is to steal the nukes of Pak, weaken it and make it subservient.
3. Mumbai attack and attack on Indian Parliament were planned by RAW
Pakistan has nothing to do with Mumbai attacks and attack on Indian Parliament. This is a conspiracy theory by India to malign Pakistan. These attacks were planned by RAW. Few security experts don't mind adding CIA, MOSSAD and RAM whenever they mention RAW. Few have went ahead to add MI5 as well. As a corollary, Ajmal Kasab was not a Pakistani, he was an Indian agent. Many dispute the fact that he has been hung. They wanted a live telecast of Kasab's hanging. By now you all must have known, another terrorist has been caught live by India but Denialistan is again playing the same old rhetoric of Denial. –
Bakare ki teen taang ! Bakara laakar khada kardo saamne fir bhi nahi maanenge !
4. TTP (Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ) is supported by RAW and RAW is responsible for all the terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
Irrespective of the statements made by Pakistani leaders, Pakistan firmly believes in the concept of Good Taliban / Bad Taliban, Good Terrorists (operating in Kashmir such as LeT, JuD, and operating in Afghanistan, read Afghan Taliban) /Bad Terrorists (TTP and group). Since ISI itself has raised these terrorists, and now some of them have turned against their masters, they are being disowned and are being called children of RAW. Seems like a typical Bollywood scene wherein Nirupa Roy says – Jaa ! Aaj se tu mera beta nahi hai .. Marr gayi teri maa !
So by this logic, since RAW governs all the terrorist organizations in Pakistan, therefore, RAW is responsible for all the acts of terrorism in Pakistan.
5. Peshawar attack on school children was planned by RAW.
This comes as a simple corollary of point no. 4 above.
6. RAW has 35000 agents in Pakistan !
Pakistani security analysts have trumpeted this on news channels as if they have got a database of RAW agents in Pakistan.
7. India is culturally invading Pakistan using Indian movies and cartoons and destroying Pakistani culture.
I heard a Pakistani news anchor crying over penetration of Hindi movies and cartoons in Pakistan. He said he was taken aback when his daughter said -Mujhmein Shakti aa gayi hai.

8. India is nurturing the dream of Akhand Bharat thereby threatening existence of Pakistan.
Thanks Saurabh for reminding this. The dream of Akhand Bharat (undivided India) is assimilation of Pakistan and Bangladesh into India. Though as I stated in the beginning, India has always been considered as an existential threat, yet, with the advent of BJP government in India led by Narendra Modi, this theory has picked up. Now we can't blame Pakistanis entirely for this, because the term Akhand Bharat was coined by RSS, which acts as parent organization for BJP. However, anyone in Pakistan, and specially those who claim to be security experts or analysts, would be sane enough to realize that such statements are only meant for creating euphoria among a certain class of people. Presenting this as an Indian conspiracy is simply laughable.
