Artist was born on the 10th of March, 1960 in Lugansk. He started painting at age of 12. After eighth form of secondary school he entered Lugansk State Art School and then continued his education in 1980 at Kharkiv Institute of Industrial Art. While studying at the Institute Andrey Shwidkiy began to exhibit his artworks, took part in regional and republican exhibitions. Nowdays he lives and works in Lugansk. Andrey Shwidkiy is a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artist since 1999.
