2014 Society of Biology Photography Winners The UK-based Society of Biology held its third annual photography competition on October 2014. The theme of the competition was 'Home, Habitat and Shelter". The competition drew hundreds of contestants from around the world and from various age groups. The resulting pictures are delightful and captivating. Photographer of the Year 2014 Winner: "The Suburban Mum" by Billy Clapham Runner up: "Parental care in parasitoid wasps" by Thomas Endlein Highly commended: "Bisons on Grand Prismatic Spring" by Lukas Gawenda Young Photographer of the Year 2014 Winner: "Courage doesn't always ROAR…" by Nagarjun Ram   Runner up:  "Man-made forest" by Ysabel M Victoriano Highly commended: "Meal Time" by Boris Barath Shortlisted: "Striving Succulent" by Kelsey Green "Life and Environment" by Dimple Pancholi "Spider like from another world" by Krasimir Matarov "A lively belly in the freshwater" by Matteo Riccardo Di Nicola "Spectral Tarsier" by Wolfgang Weinhardt "A Shelter Designed by Nature" by Robert Cabagnot
