[www.keralites.net] Strange Ways To Offend People In Other Countries

10. Iran
Thumbs up isn't always a friendly gesture. I Iran and some parts of the Middle East it means "up yours"!

9. Japan

When someone gives you their business card in Japan, be careful how handle it. Don't put it in your pocket, because this could be a great offense.

8. Arab and African countries

If you get invited in Arab or African home, be careful what you are saying. Because a compliment like "I love your couch" can make your host feel awkwardly obliged to give you the item.

7. Japan

It is very rude to fill your glass when drinking with someone in Japan. You should fill the glass the person beside you.

6. Muslim countries and India

It is very rude to use your left hand when you are eating in India or in Muslim countries. The left hand is reserved for the bathroom duties.

5. Argentina

If you are invited to a diner in Argentina be sure to get at least one hour later. It is a sign of greed if you show up punctual.

4. Western countries

It is considered impolite to slurp your soup in Western countries, while in Japan is good manners and shows you are enjoying your food.

3. Korea

Simply smiling in Korea is a great insult. Smiling at a stranger is an indication that you think they're stupid.

2. Turkey and Brazil

"O.K. sign" is very rude in Brazil and Turkey. It signifies a similar shaped part of human anatomy.

1. Philippines

Don't beckon someone with your finger in the Philippines. It is considered fit for dogs and is punishable by arrest.
