Rags-To-Riches Retail Tycoon Hopes to Inspire Other Immigrants  ( Forever 21 Fashin store 470 branches ) : - Do Won was forced to work three jobs at the same time to support them, as a janitor, a gas station attendant, and in a coffee shop. whose stores employ over 40,000 staff and produce annual sales of W4.5 trillion (US$1=W1,062), as the 187th richest person in the U.S. in March.

"I tried everything when I first arrived in America: dishwashing, cleaning, working part time at a gas station. I tried my hand at whatever physically demanding jobs I could get. Then I got interested in fashion and decided to start a fashion business," he said.

The name Forever 21, which Chang chose himself, reflects his aspiration to present an image of staying young. It mainly targets consumers in their 20s, but has broader appeal as it conveys a certain lifestyle and state of mind.
